Somebody please help me with Bosi.

I'm trying to follow the directions on the site. I uploaded everything in the folder I unzipped to my server. I have zero idea what I'm doing when the directions tell me to create a DB. Please someone help. I've been working on this off and on for about 6 mths and I can't find anything with a search here (perhaps I don't know the correct search terms). Thanks!

Well the main question is... Does your host give you the ability to use PHP and a MySQL database? Do they provide you a control panel to log into that says something like MySQL of Phpmyadmin or something like that?

Here is there response (so the answer is yes):

Good morning. Yes, all of our plans come with PhP and MySQL. The higher the plan, the more MySQL databases are allowed. Full details on the # of MySQL databases included in each plan can be located on our hosting page:


Also, all of our plans come with access to the cPanel control panel. From there you can control everything from e-mail accounts to MySQL databases.

I've done some work since this, here is what is happeninug now:

I'm at the log in where the directions state to log in as admin for pw and log in.

I'm getting the following error message:

Error: No Database Selected trying to read user/pass dbuser = DBUSER

Please advise.

Alright, did you edit the config file? It sounds like it might be pointing at the wrong database tables.

Also did you go to Phpmyadmin and run the SQL file to create the tables like it says on the BOSI website?

The only thing I can think that I've done wrong is the DB name, where do I get that from?

Scratch that. As soon as I pressed send, I knew how dumb that was. I was using my log in name not my actual db name. thanks a million for the help. If there is anything I can ever do, just ask.

One last question for you, if you don't mind. If you don't feel like answering, perhaps there is a link that can help. It says to be sure to generate the csv's etc.... it does not give me any directions on how to do this (perhaps, I'm just making it too hard).

Ah well that's what the exporter is for. Go back to the bosi site, under downloads and there should be a exporter version 1.01.

Let me be more specific. I'm trying to edit the exporter, but where are the files that I want to change? It only tells me to edit it.
