Catobase and Replay Leagues?

Is there anyway to "trick" Catobase into compiling several seasons from a replay league?

A friend and I have been messing around with the all time best teams. Since we don't want the players to age to the point of retiring, we can't play career (there are no rookie drafts since all players are already assigned to teams). We play replay league and reset and draft every season, but I don't think Catobase will read in the file since the year never changes.

Any suggestions or work arounds?

You could have the first year import normally then in the subsequent years use the exporter not within CATOBASE and change the year to the year plus 1. Put the csv files into the data directory of your catobase files and rerun the import without the import option selected in catobase. This will put the data files into the database and then into a new folder when completed. I am not sure if this is work but I would think that it should.

I have manually added seasons to the catobase before and this is the procedure I used...the only thinkg I did not recreate were the player history records due to player ids changing.....

Thanks SandMan, I'll try it out. Once I export the csv file outside of catobase, do I just change the data directory name to 1902? Or do I need to change any csv files directly?

I tried something similar last night, not exactly what you describe but I can't remember what exactly was different. Anyway, I got an error that said "1901 already imported" or something like that. I changed the league csv file to 1902 and tried again, same message. Are there other csv files that need the date changed?

Just change the year in the CSV files using excel or wordpad. Then just copy them into the data directory. The program will put them into the XXXX folder after the mdb files are updated (just run the import with the option of using the imported not checked). Hope this works for you. My leagues were all career years and I manually added them fromold exports I had and it worked. I would think the process will work for you.....

I tested this last night and it works and requires the least amount of effort:
First, set the league to replay. If you don't want to draft, just set draft to 0 and skip say "no" to import rookies and fictional players. Play out your season, then before you "reset season" change league settings to career. Run catobase before proceeding as you would normally (you may have to generate/copy the league.html file directly). Then, "proceed to next season." This will generate in-game almanacs and change the year etc. This is kind of a nice benefit because you can see players' career stats in-game unlike in normal replay mode. After proceeding, change the league back to replay. Skip spring training or your ratings may change. You can repeat this process forever. However, you do need to change the birthyear for each player by exporting the general csv file, adding one to everyone's birthyear, then importing it back. Players ratings won't change and there will be no player progresson (up or down) as they age, but if you don't change the birthyear, players will retire.
