State Leagues...

I wanted to do something different and created a league with all Wisconsin teams, but I wanted to have a majority of my players from the Badger State. I feel that it would be nice to have other states leagues or just the dat files to add to the Originator program (the program allows you to add your own list by editting the defdata file, upto 20 origins.)

This is how I accomplished this:

1. Created a wi_origin.dat file to be used within The Originator Program.

2. Added an entry into the Originator program add my wisconsin only data.
I used the md names list for the first and last names.

The attached wisconsin file needs to be changed to .dat file but works great in the game. Every village, city and town is listed with the exception of duplicate names. There were 4 Jacksons listed in Wisconsin. The list will show one.

I also attached a zipped copy of the US-origin file I use. The one created by the author looks to be in excel lookup format and does not distribute the origins to my likings. The locations in the begining of the file list are not selected often and all the other locations are pretty much evenly distributed. I simply took the columns and subtracted the frequency number from the previous record and got the new frequency value. I now get more people in my league from New York, LA, Philadelphia than I do from Fitchburg Wisconsin (an example from a league where I had 8 players from Fitchburg and 3 from New York City...). The dat format looks to be the data used a lookup, while the other origin files have a frequency value.
