Download Center
Just updated the front page of the Download Center. Nothing too fancy as I'm not adept at web design. However I believe it's clean, simple, to the point, etc. Let me know what you guys think of it and any suggestions are great too.
I'll be getting to the other parts of the site as time permits. Any ideas on what you'd like to see and improve? Thanks!

ummmm....
....Joe...my browser is the current version of IE and Im running at 1024x768 and your page is severely cut off on the right hand side. It seems like your graphics are pushing your text over (off the page, as it were) You might want to make sure your HTML is lined up right.
....other than that, it looks wonderful!!!

Thanks FastLane. I've only checked on my PC and it looks fine so I'll go back and check it out. Thanks for letting me know!
Halofan -- I'll have it up as soon as I can. Thanks!

No problem, Joe...
...glad to be of assistance...however little it is. I can try taking a look at the HTML and seeing where the problem in the code might be. Although, I am probably assuming too much... YOU'RE the one with the website, I'm sure you know what the heck you are doing...

It seems to me....
...that the problem lies in that you have the OOTP logo justified to the left of the text of your homepage and that its location and size are forcing the text over too far.
I tried a re-edit with placing the logo centered above the text and that seemed to help quite a bit... Again, I am presuming too much, I'm sure...especially since Halofan didnt notice or remark about a problem viewing it and neither did you.

Yeah I changed my resolution down and noticed it as well. Thanks for the suggestion FastLane. Oh by the way, I have no clue what I'm doing, lol. I know enough to get by and if it wasn't for the ease of use of Dreamweaver and Nvu I'd be lost. Thanks guys!

Great site, JoeRock...looks great...easy to use...and that is especially appreciated by me, a computer-illiterate.
Like FastLane...to see the right hand side, I have to use the side-to-side scroll bar...that's the only slight negative...and it is not a big one. Your site is one of best sites for OOTPB...if not the most valuable one we have. Keep up the great work. |

I'd like to keep the OOTP 6 logo to the left of the text. I've tried moving it around and whatnot but still can't quite get everything to fit inside the page. FastLane or anyone else have any suggestions? I'd like the page to look right for everyone. Thanks.

After searching around the web for design tips, I believe I have the solution fixed. I'm working on it now and should have it up by tomorrow.

Joe,
you;ve got your table with set at 1150px. Way to wide for most (Im using Firefox on a old laptop to view). Best size width is usually between 640 and 1024 (for most computers). Chris Last edited by plannine; 12-01-2004 at 04:33 AM. |

I really liked that Flash menu and it looked good on my PC. Then again I use a top of the line Dell laptop also. I look at the site as more of the OOTP Communitity's site with me running things and if some or most can't access or navigate the site easily I thought I might as well go back with what's worked. I have some things I have in mind that I've wanted to do that hopefully I can do. Keep an eye out. Thanks!
