Need SOUTH FORK STALLIONS

The South Fork Stallions of the United Baseball League of Tycobbia (named for Ty Cobb) were recently purchased by the Jock Ewing Family of "Dallas" fame. Patriach, Jock, bought each of his quarreling and squabbling sons a franchise...Ozarka Naturals for J. R. and South Fork for Bobby. They had been vice-presidents of the Waleska Westerners, but couldn't get along. So Jock separated them.

J. R. spared no expense to commission world-renown logo designers, Le Grande Orange and knuckler, to create a new image for his team.

Now Bobby has to have a new one, too.

Anyone who successfully complete one to outdo J. R.'s will be rewarded handsomely by Bobby...such is the nature of brotherly love in the Ewing Dynasty.

You guys pick the colors, design...everything.

I trust all of you to come up with something better than I can.

Sorry...couldn't resist just one suggestion...a South Fork brand...the type you see over the gates of ranches...also used to brand the cattle and stock. In fact, scotto's might even be the South Fork brand...I really liked his logo, but the black breaks up on the midsized screen and I didn't know him well enough to tell him to do it over again at that time. But I really liked his design, colors and font...It is perfect IMO...'cept the black transparency problem.

Don't use my suggestion if it doesn't fit your concept.

Thanks to you all.

Here are the previous fine logos done.

LGO's is in this thread.

Whats the original look like?

Gotta see if its even possible for me to top it... LOL.

(I always liked Bobby more than Jock and J.R., anyhoo...)

Very fine logo, nmleague...the font for "SF" is really excellent.

Incidentally, I like your new series. I like the way you change the colors of the diamonds...it gives it a little more variation and you can coordinate with the other colors of the logo.

Would be possible to make the black trim on the lettering white so it would be better contrast to the dark gray background?

I don't know if it is possible to make the black not get spotty on the midsized screens like the Team Setup Screen and on the Main Game Scoreboard. If you can...great...but if not...it is still very well done.

This is fine. Thanks for the extra effort. Sorry to be such a pain.

I saved your first version...it is better than my white version...It looks much more classy with the black.

Again, I am wrong and the designer does it better...Sorry for wasting your time.

Okay, here is my shot at the South Fork Stallions. I like the design, but I'm still not entirely happy with the colours. In fact, they were driving me crazy, but I figured close enough for now.

Anyway, here it is:

Thank you very much for a fine logo, Le Grande Orange.

That is a fine design, but I agree with you, the colors may be a little too subtle for a baseball team.

I'll fool around with some color combinations and offer a suggestion, if it is ok with you.

The design and lettering are excellent...beautiful fonts.
The white trimmed in black for South Fork looks great...and the light brown trimmed in white for Stallions is great, too. IMO the logo just needs a little more color...maybe some black, orange and yellow...coordinated with the light brown and white...replace the tan color with a more colorful color.

Suggestion: Use the Black, Yellow and Orange and add the Light Brown, if you like...use white, too...See the one by TCF (TrueCardinalFan) below.
Since the Ewing Family owns the team..Black=Oil...Yellow=Gold...Orange=Passion (that will put a little pizazz in it) would be symbolic of the Family.

See it here: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...chmentid=18633

benchwarmer likes the colors the way it is....am I being too picky?

Tell me if I am...no offense will be taken...and I will just graciously accept your fine work, and "hush my mouth" as we say south of the Mason-Dixon Line.

Black/White and Orange could be a great combination actually. I'm trying to visually imagine it, and i think it would look great.

Yeah, the colours are a little muted. Like I said, I'm not entirely satisified with the results so suggestions are welcome. Besides, it's for your team, so naturally you have to have some say.

That's good to hear. I wasn't sure if it stood out well enough due to part of the background shape protruding into it or not. I guess it stood out better than I thought.

I wish it was that easy! I usually have a hard time picking good complementary colours, especially on a monitor. I find that colours I can easily see on a printed page I have a hard time duplicating to my eye onscreen. That shouldn't be entirely surprising, given the completely different systems at work, but even so I think I have more trouble with it than others do.

Well I can certainly give it a try. Any suggestions on just which element should be which colour? Should the Stallions type be left alone or should I include it in the colour scheme revisions?

I'll probably tackle a secondary logo version after the primary one is more refined.

Also, I have a completely different design version in mind as well. It's rare when I get two totally different design layout ideas for one team name, but this is one of those cases. Hopefully I'll be able to get this other design idea done sometime next week.

LGO, I know you are a perfectionist and will not rest until it is exactly as you want. I hate to see you spend any more time on this just for my sake.

Simple solution...to give it a little more color, just make the "SF" orange...leave everything else as is.

That should do it for me.

Thanks, scotto. That really is a very well designed logo...fine colors and font... I always liked it except the original got a little spotty on the midsized game screens.

Thanks for the extra effort. It is much appreciated.

Okay, here's a recoloured version of the logo I presented earlier. I also changed the background shape a little, merging it into one continuous shape rather than two overlaid shapes. Sorry for the delay in getting it done, but better late than never (I hope).

Let me know what you think about this colour combination.

Like the added color a lot...thanks for spending so much time on it.

It is a fine logo.

The secondary with just the letters is a fine addition. nmleague and knuckler...maybe FastLane, too....have done letter logos and even included a mascot figure.

They really show up well in the game.
