PING: Commish Joe

I've been looking at your exporter, mainly because I was to develop my OWN website for my online league rather then rely on the standard OOTP website.

Excellent job btw - the .csv are exactly what I need

Quick question though, are the "PNUM"s unique each and every year? I mean, once a player is #54 is he number #54 for all time? Or does #54 change each year with retirements etc?

I'm curious. Because if it is that it changes each year, then I'll need to flush my online database yearly and then upload the career stats each and every year.

Before I start coding the .php that will automatically import your .csv's into my MySQL database I wanted to know if that was necesary.

Thanks!

The pnums in the exporter are the player IDs that OOTP assigns. OOTP does reuse them so a number belonging to a player that retires would be reassigned.

If you're looking to code your own front end, may I suggest using the BOSI tool that CommishJoe created. It can be found @ http://www.bosicentral.com/. This tool has a stat importer that inserts a ton of stats into a mySQL database based off of the csv files. The BOSI stat importer handles the player id issue. BOSI creates a unique player_id for each OOTP player. It also contains a front end which you don't have to use.

I created a custom front end for the league I am in (http://ngbl.exoverge.com) The site uses all the data from the BOSI importer.

Good Luck to you.

Your site is amazing czzccr. Wish I had the talent to do that.
