Cato: Data Directory

Well, I haven't gotten very far...When I click "Import" it says "File Not Found"...The problem seems to be the Data Directory...What is this supposed to be? Is it referring to my "teams.dat" files? If so, do I need to paste those files into a folder?

My other question is why when I "browse" it only gives me ".csv" in OOTP5 and not 6? Help me Obi-Won Kenobi, You're my only hope!!!

Do I have to have a League file in "csv" format for the data directory? If so, how do I create one...I know I am a newb, and this is probably very basic to all of you, but this kind of stuff drives me bonkers...I also got the "null" error, but I saw threads regarding that...

What do I do for the .csv??

Negative....

When I do that (i am putting the same path for league Directory and Data Directory) I get
1) Was Not Found...
Make Sure the File exists and the correct path is set in the options screen

2) File Not Found:
c:\ProgramFiles\Out of the Park Developments\OOTP6\MLB.lg\league.csv

im sorry, my bad

league directory is what i was talking about before and data directory is the directory you want the csv to be output to. if you are using version 6.1.4, then the exporters wil run automatically. just create a folder named CATO history (or whatever you want) and point the data there. an example from 1 of my databases is c: program files\catobase histories\ocla league. i also have my other leagues' databases in c: program files\catobase histories\"league name" to keep them all together.

you should have "run exporter & copy text files to data folder" checked

Well where do I put that folder? What goes in that folder? When you say create a folder is it the "mdb"? I just tried what you said and got the same response....What is the purpose of the exporters? Was I supposed to put the exporters in a specific folder?

Geez I am so confused....

When I get home from work, I will start from scratch...UnInstall Cato, reinstall...Yeah I don't know much about computers, but man, I should at least figure this out...

This is a step by step of what I did prior, and maybe I made a mistake...

1. I downloaded the V5 version of Catobase
2. I downloaded the exporters
3. Then I downloaded V6.14

The only thing I can think of is that something is wrong when I am downloading the exporters because the data directory can't find "league.csv"...When I download the exporters, do I install them into the CatoBase folder? And do I need to take the Exporter files out of the folder and place them somewhere specific?

Yes, install/unzip the exporters into your Catobase folder. That's probably the problem, as the first "File Not Found" is "I can't find the exporters" and the second is "I can't find the CSV"... which makes sense since there won't be any CSVs without the exporters.

Is there anything more that I need to do to the exporters other than download them? Do I do anything with those files in the exporters folder?
And finally, do they need to be out of the exporter folder, or will Cato be able to read them when they are in the exporter folder?

Thanks for the response...I know to you seasoned vets, this probably doesn't even constitute a reply because it is so basic, but for some reason I am retarded about it...

Yes, they need to be out of the exporter "folder" (actually a ZIP) and in the same folder as your Catobase program, not in a sub-folder.
