PHrF in Catobase

I did a search and found nothing, nor did I find it on a web search. Maybe someone with James' Win Shares can expound on it for me.

What explanation exists for the ratings given Park Home Run Factor (PHrF) in Catobase? How is this rating/percentage arrived at and how does it translate in terms of interpretating what it really means?

If I recall, this was added to version 6.1.4 so some of you may not even have this factor listed in ballparks. Any thoughts are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I dunno the nuts and bolts of how it's calculated, but the interpretation isn't too tough... It's a multiplier (or percentage) that tells you what the homerun rate for that park is, compared to the league average. For example, Colorado's PHrF might be 1.28, meaning that the homer rate was 28% above the league average. It also lets you do calculations like 50 HR in the above Colorado park is the equivalent of 39 HR in a "league average park". (50 divided by 1.28)

its measured using the total homers hit in a specific park by all players. obviously, its weighted towards the home team's totals b/c of the 82 games they play there.

the PHrF will change year to year because there are different totals used to calculate it every year
