Ok so heres the new deal for anyone out there.....i uninstalled catobase and decided to try the 6.0 version....i updated the ltrans.html with the =r to =p...this time it worked as far as not giving me the type mismatch at the ltrans screen....except this time i got the type mismatch right when it got to the washington team....then when i started the create html pages...it gave me the error 55 message again right when it started to do the team summeries again....so thats the new issue if anyone out there wants to help me

Hmmm, I use CATO 6.0.0 (its the only one that would work for me) but I also use OOTP5. So my experiences are probably not that helpful to you.
I'm not sure at this point what could be causing your issues. Its interesting that it works fine for you unless you use an alternate roster set. I wonder if there is just something in that roster set you could fix that would solve the problem altogether. |

CatoBase ltrans type mismatch SOLVED....possible OOTP bug? But it appears to fix that problem with no side affects. It would not surprise me that it works since CATO smartly does not use player IDs. What file was it processing when you got to Washington? Was is processing the teams.csv file? You might just have something simply wrong with Washington in the league file. Does it have an abbreviation, a full team name and team nickname and all that stuff? Is the abbreviation different that all others in the league? I would look in the team setup screen for Washington and compare to the others in the league file. Make sure it has all the necessary info. |

Ok ill try that when i get home tonight.....it gave the message when it was imputting the stats for the washington team......it was fine with all the otehr teams as far as getting past the ltrans screen....so when it was uploading the stats from the washington team is where it had teh probelm....and then oviously when i do the html pages it just messes up right when the angels team summary is about to start....so i guess ill check that when i get home....Does it have to have an abbreviation, a full team name and team nickname and all that stuff???
Edit: Do you think it would have anything to do with the exporter...meaning is there any exporter that i have to download for the html pages to work or does the catobase come with the exporters...just a thought? Last edited by Aceshigh24; 01-14-2005 at 02:35 PM. |

Abbreviation for sure and NEVER change them once you do your first import. Unless the team is actually moving to a new franchise. Then you can change the abbreviation and CATO will use that as a key (after you manually tell it to) to link the old and new franchises.
I'm not 100% on the other fields, but its best to be consistent with the other teams. Make sure Washington has at least what all the other teams have. I'm holding out hope that since you are using a current roster set and its Washington giving you fits, maybe something was just left blank for Washington in the league file. |

The Master.CSV file will be saved in the DATA folder in your CATOBASE history folder. Just do a search for the player name and the you will see the exported player id also. Just a side note, the problem with the retired player was fixed for 6.1.4 as far as I know. I had the problem with earlier versions but not with the most current. It appears to happen when a player plays for multiple teams, and announces his retirement at the EOY. Another idea to prevent this from happening in future seasons is to EXPORT the rosters and player info to CSV files before the first game of the season. These files are small and can be overwritten the next season, because you won't need them..... |

Whoops wrong problem - ignore ... On your other issue with it blowing up on the Washington, go to the pitching csv files and make sure that none of the pitchers have 0 IP but have ERs. I have this happen with end of season callups where I will get O IP but 2 ERS allowed. I just change the IP to .33 and modify another scrubs stats to add the .33. The error you are getting may be because of the old programmers most hated problem - DIV by ZERO |
