Make sure you have leaderboards enabled (I believe is in Options/Output or something of this nature).

I think you are talking about importing career stats. That is a separate option in CATO. It is also comes from a separate CSV file that is created when you specifically tell CATO to do career stats. Roster Sets usually have career stats with them so it all works. I have no idea how Lahmans works and how you get career stats with working with the roster databases that are out there. But I've got career stats in my CATO so it definitely works.

Ok i think i understand, i see that my players from the lahman season have career stats, i was hoping that when you looked at the career leaderboard they would acutally have ty cobb at number 1 with average, and pete rose at hits.....thats what i was hoping it was going to do...now i just have to figure out this manager leaders thing

No idea. Although I'm pretty sure I've read and seen folks recommend good websites for that into. Might find it in a search of the main forum. I'm not into historical leagues, so I've never paid attention them.

Has anyone out there actually succesfully used catobase with a lahman import where the following year you actually had to change the abbriviation for the team?....meaning: when the boston braves moved to milwaukee at the end of the 1952 season, where you actually able to change the team abbr in the catobase team info edit screen??? I read the read me file that comes with catobase about how the league well automaticly expand but you have to do the abbr....so i guess my question for whoever can answer is...if you start a league, lets say in 1902....if you change the team names right in the begining rather then keep them what they were in 1902, will that effect the way catobase works and if you do change the team names at the right time, do you actually have to do it everytime the team changes city..example: the Atlanta Braves have changed cities 7 times since 1902 before the moved to atlanta, so would you have to change there name everytime they moved or will it be ok for catobase?? Hopefully this made sense to someone and they can help

If a team changes its name or relocates or whatever, all you need to do is be sure it is taken care of on the team info screen and be sure you point the new team to the old team abbreviation. Then when the HTML is created the two teams will be linked.
I have heard of folks having problems with this option, but it worked for me. But I have only had one relocation. |

So for instance, st. louis browns were the milwaukee breweres back in 1901 for 1 year before they were the st louis browns....so if i simulate 1901 and i change the name from milwaukee brewers to st louis browns for the year of 1902....your saying i keep the abbriviation of MIL??? if thats the case, then thats pretty easy...does that make sense

I've never tried keeping the abbreviation the same. It may work fine that way. If you wanted to change the abbreviation because of the name change/relocation. You would do it like this.
1. Leave 1901 alone 2. In 1902, you would change the name of of the team and abbreviate in your league file 3. So then when you look at the 1902 team info data after it is imported you would see the new team and abbreviation 4. All you got to do is go over to the last column (can't remember its heading) and change THAT abbreviate to the old Milw abbreviation That column is typically blank, but filled in whenever a team moves, changes names, etc. That would link the two teams in CATO. |

ok that makes sense....so just to clarify on the import part, you would import the data info, the change the team names & then import the html pages??? is that correct
