Actually I think it would be best to keep the actual poll here in the logo's forum. I'll post a thread in OT that refers to the poll though.

Sounds good. Why don't post the entries and poll tomorrow morning?...I wouldn't worry about posting them in the wee hours of the morning. |

Sounds good to me. jnshmoo and I have been in contract and this is close to what I envisioned (although I really thought we'd have easily less than 10 entries when I first thought this out! I'm impressed with 15!) A link in OOTP's main forum would be nice but please do not post a link in every forum. I've seen people do that and it can be annoying to some. I did not want to make the poll public. I'd rather people voted their favorite and not have to worry about hurting anyone's feelings.

Fifteen entries, eh? That's pretty impressive, considering that it was only 3 not that long ago. Talk about a flurry of late submissions...
Anyway, it's going to be really interesting to see all the different variations. By the way, Eugene, I'm thinking I might eventually take a stab at doing up a stadium graphic. Still in the initial planning stages; I'm fooling around with perspectives and such and familiarizing myself with what's been done already to get some ideas of the effort involved. Logos seem simple in comparison I must say...

It's getting the perspectives right that seems quite tricky to me. Of course, I could just eyeball the elements together but my perfectionist side doesn't like that idea. It just has to be right (arrrrghghgh).
I was thinking I could work up a Photoshop file that would have a whole bunch of different elements in it, like say a few different outfield fence positions, different backgrounds behind the outfield, different looks to the grass field, and so forth, and then just mix and match these to quickly make up a variety of stadiums. I don't think that's going to work though. Now I'm thinking of basically laying out the basic "floor plans" in Corel in a top down view, then applying the appropriate perspectives to the line drawings, and then import that into Photoshop and go from there. The Corel drawing will give me all the correct sight lines and perspective lines so that the textural elements can be put in the proper positions. It works in theory at any rate. Eugene has really got me thinking about stadium graphics, so I want to see if I can knock one out (eventually) and meet the challenge they pose.

![]() Seriously though, the contest is all in good spirit, there is no point to cheat like that anyways. Besides cheating is always wrong in any context.
