CatoBase vs. BOSI

I'm fairly new at running my own online league..... ok, so I'm brand new.

Anywho, I've been reading a lot about both CatoBase and BOSI, and I was wondering what people thought of each, if they'd suggest one over the other, etc...

Is there one that is easier to set up over the other?
Is there one that supplies more information over the other?

If someone could drop some knowledge on me, that'd be greatly appreciated. PM, e-mail (wplcommish@gmail.com), AIM (WPLCommish) all work. Or here, too.

Thanks.

They are not comparison applications in any sense.

One is solely a history tool (CATO). You run it once a season and it offers a whole bunch of static HTML that illustrates the history of your league.

BOSI is a online league team manager. BOSI is updated after every sim. It offers tons of in season stats and reports not available through OOTP. It offers an automated ammy draft system. It offers an automated trading system. However, BOSI 2 for OOTP6 in its standard form, does not offer near as much as BOSI 1 does for OOTP5 leagues. But it still offers many reports, stats, and the ammy draft tool. I know folks have been working on completing BOSI 2, but I do not know its status.

They both can be somewhat difficult to get along with or relatively easy. CATO is very fragile and has many bugs/issues that can be hard to overcome. Some folks have no problems, some folks run into issues and give up.

BOSI just requires a stronger understanding of web technology and a basic understanding of a databases for you to be able to set it up. Once you got it up and running, you are usually golden.

Thanks for the info, Dave. I've just heard so much about both of them that I wanted to hear someone way what they actually did.

The web technology/database stuff I wouldn't have much problem with... so it's probably more or less just getting in there and trying things out, seeing how they run, etc...

Thanks again.
