Catobase Problem...
I must be doing something wrong with Catobase... I'm just trying to use it for the first time now...
so I open it, go to new to create a new database... enter my database name, click save and a box pops up that says "class not registered" i close it and another one that says the same thing is there. I close it and one that says "database connection error" pops up... then finally one that says "invalid procedure call or argument". Anyone have any clue what I need to do?

I'd say that you don't have MS Access installed. It's needed in order to open the databases CatoBase creates, unless you have another program that can open *.MDB files.

CATOBASE doesn't need ACCESS to work, but it appears that one of the DLLs that the program uses has been deleted or updated with an earlier version. You will need to re-install CATOBASE to update. If you are using 6.1.4, I would reinstall 5.4, followed by 6.0 and then 6.1.4.

Oh, I stand corrected then. Always thought Access was needed.

It is nice to have ACCESS, I use the CATOBASE MDB file and create my own reports. Plus there are times that the records get hosed and the easiest thing is to change them in the database. ACCESS is then required. Personally I would recommend ACCESS to anyone using CATOBASE, there are issues at times with the program. |
