Hey, a Catobase problem! (Line 1 of players.csv)
What an exciting change of pace from all the other threads in here. I have a Catobase problem!
It's telling me there is a problem in line 1 of players.csv. I'll let everyone else look at it because I'm afraid I'm going to put a fist through my monitor if I look at this anymore. Quote:

Is this the actual line. Did you edit this through Excel? Or view it and save through excel. It looks strange that none of the String fields like name have double quotes around them.....just curious if this may be a problem. All my player csv files look like this:

I'd been doing it both in notepad and Excel, but it seems like I must have done it in Excel every time I tested it. That was exactly the problem. Thank you so much.

Okay, I'm confused.
Catobase is telling me I have a problem around line 1344, and that it might be an unusual character in the nickname or home state areas. Sure enough, in line 1345, there is an unusual character in the nickname field. So I delete the nickname and type in a new one. I go to input the stats again, and the same thing. So I open up Notepad and none of the changes I made saved, even though I specifically hit "save". I try it again, same thing. I open it in OpenOffice (as I don't have Excel), and my changes are there. What is going on? |

Yeah, you have to use the in-game editor to make the changes stick. Otherwise everytime you run Catobase the txt file is jut going to be overwritten and it will keep having the error.
