LOGO DESIGNERS: "FAVORITES COMPILATION" #5 OTTAWA OTTERS
LOGO DESIGNERS: LOGO #5 FOR THE "FAVORITES COMPILATION"
OTTAWA OTTERS OTTERS was chosen because the sound of the name flows very euphonically and alliteratively with OTTAWA and the otter is found along rivers throughout Canada and North America... You may find this interesting: http://www.luddist.com/otter.htm If you would like to design a logo, you have until Midnight Tuesday at 11:59 pm CST (USA) to e-mail it to jnshmoo. You may submit more than one logo...but please make them distinctly different from each other...and not just slight variations of the same logo. HIS E-MAIL ADDRESS: ootplogo at jnshmoo.us (You will have to take out the "spaces" and add the real "at" symbol...this is to cut down on spam to jnshmoo) IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE A RECEIPT CONFIRMATION OF YOUR ENTRY WITHIN 24 HOURS, CONTACT JNSHMOO BY PM (PRIVATE MESSAGE). YOU SHOULD ALSO RESEND YOUR ENTRY TO HIM. IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT YOU GET YOUR ENTRY IN PRIOR TO THE LAST 24 HOURS OF THE ENTRY DEADLINE. Size: 150 x 150 pixels JPG FORMAT RULES: DO NOT USE ANY EXISTING PRO SPORTS LEAGUES LOGOS. A designer cannot use an already existing professional logo in the logo design and creation...it must be a new creation. The time zone is Central Standard Time in the USA...my time zone. DEADLINE TO SUBMIT YOUR LOGO: 11:59 PM CST TUESDAY For the time zone challenged, Midnight Central Time on Tuesday is: (COMPLIMENTS OF THE TIMELESS WONDER, LE GRANDE ORANGE) 9:59 p.m. Pacific on Tuesday 10:59 p.m. Mountain on Tuesday 11:59 p.m. Central on Tuesday 12:59 a.m. Eastern on Wednesday 1:59 a.m. Atlantic on Wednesday 5:59 a.m. GMT on Wednesday |

[QUOTE=canadiancreed]thats' quite a list
probably too late but this is what I though woudl be good ones ![]() We posted a thread about the Favorite Logo Project on the Main OOTPB Forum and asked for cities w/nicknames suggestions and used that to come up with the 20 cities we will use. We got about 200 suggestions. Sorry you missed that thread. Capitols would be a fine name, too. |

Oh man, a concept for this nickname just cries out for the inclusion of an otter, but alas I have zero drawing skills when it comes to animals or people, or plain everyday objects for the most part, so I'm pretty much dead in the water on this one.
I'm willing to bet too that Cuss will put something together that will absolutely nail it. Here's hoping I get some kind of brainstorm before next Tuesday...

Yeah, Cuss will come up with a great Otter image...but the other designers have their strong points, too. Last edited by Eugene Church; 02-09-2005 at 06:20 PM. |

For example, "Giants" or "Twins" or "Nationals" don't really have anything which conjures up an automatic association, at least not to me, so a non-figure logo seems a very viable option. But with something like "Otters" or "Mustangs" or "Tigers" an association to a figure seems a pretty natural and straightforward connection. Anyway, thanks for that link to the web site about otters. There were a couple of pics there which should be helpful in perhaps getting an otter figure put together. Quote:
Then again, perhaps we'll suprise everyone - I'll knock out something with a figure and you'll go the circular logo route...
