Hi! Just want to know how to get Actual Major League Teams, Players and Stats to use with the 2006 version. Will they come with the game?
Thanks.

Did I read somewhere that current db's will not work with 2006?

Rosters/Stats MLB
Hi.
I'm sure this is mentioned elsewhere, so forgive me. I realize that this is not an MLB licensed game, but do the teams and stats that come with the game bear any similarities to their MLB counterparts? I mean, is there a New York team with a large payroll that has an MVP-quality third baseman, or a team in Florida with a very modest payroll? Also, how customizable is this game? Can I easily alter existing team and player names (and abilities) to mirror MLB franchises? Or do I have to wait for a third party to create a database with real names and players? Thanks! I might be wrong, but why would all of a sudden the game not allow imports from the baseball archive database? That has been one of the real draws to this game for many people (not me personally, I like fictional). It wouldn't make sense not to allow database inclusion. The baseball archive is 3rd party, and is open source. We don't sell it and Markus doesn't sell it. We use it at home for private use.
Any thoughts? Tester? Markus? Marc?

Welcome to the forums.
The previous versions of the game all came with a strikingly similar roster set to MLB, in ratings, stats and teams (finances, stadiums, etc).. pretty much everything but the actual names, which are costly. I'm assuming the next version will as well, someone I'm sure can confirm that. But, you can also be assured that it'll be a very, very short amount of time from release to when someone makes their own MLB roster set with names and possibly more accurate ratings/finances. On the order of days I'd imagine, these guys are fanatics ![]() And, if you want to customize, you just click the "Editor" button for any particular player, and you can change everything about them. There's ways of exporting/editing/importing via a CSV file, which might make editing lots of players easier. I've never been an editing kind of guy, but lots of people are tweakers, and there's no complaints at all about how easy its always been to tweak OOTP.

Perfect. Thanks a lot for that reply. That's what I'd hoped. I've been a big fan of Football Manager and I've always thought, man, if only they could have a management game like this for MLB I'd never leave the house. Well, sort of..
Cheers, |

fanboy trying to cause trouble. Lehman DB will work with oopt 2006 allowing you to import any season from 1900 to 2005 just like the previous ootp versions. |

It's very easily customizable. You can go in and change every aspect of every team and league, from names, to financials, to roster limits. You can do anything, save from changing the actual game of baseball. |
