How to manage a team?

I want to create a fictional league where I sim about 15 years to get some history for the league. In order to do this I can't select a team to manage when I create my manager profile at the beginning. But after I sim for 15 years nobody is offering me a job. Maybe because I have no experience? I don't know how to manage a team now.

How do I manage the team I want? It was so much easier in 6.5.

You can either assign yourself to a team when you create you "character", or you need to watch for job openings throughout the season on the available jobs listing. You won't get an email asking you foe a job if thats what you were wondering.

You could also create a new manager and then take charge of any team you like.

Also, I believe that if you are in Commissioner mode you can take any job you want.

I don't get it. Here's what I did:

1) Create fictionarl league
2) Create manager (I don't select a team because i want to sim a few seasons)
3) Sim 15 seasons
4) Now how do I manage a team?

I went to create another manager option like you said but I can't select a team I want to manage. The option is like greyed out.

I go to the available jobs screen and there aren't any jobs available.

Is there anyway I can tell the computer to stop the sim when a manager gets fired? Because wouldn't I have to sim each game and wait for somebody to get fired to get a job?

I'm so confused....please help.

Make sure you're actually creating a new manager and not just editing the info of the current manager - I made this mistake myself once. Start by going to the 'Game' menu and clicking on 'Add Human Manager' or whatever the option is. Then click on the 'add manager' (I think that's the text, I don't actually know though as I'm not home) button that's in the lower left-hand corner of the form that pops up and fill out the new information and then selecting which team to be in charge of.

The easiest way to do it without creating a new manager (if you don't mind cheating your way around the job openings a bit) is to put your existing manager in commissioner mode on his homepage, sign up for the job you want, then turn off the commissioner flag again.
