Help out someone who knows nothing about baseball by answering this question.

What the heck is MAL Triple A (and so forth)? Yeah, I know it's a league but where on the internet can I get info on their teams. I'm trying to change all the team names into the real names and so far I was able to change until the Rookie Leagues. I'm almost there. I just need *MAL* Triple A, Double A, Single A, Short Season A and Rookie League.

Also, the player's names that come with the teams are the real names of the real players, aren't they? Yep, I don't know much about baseball, but still I bought the game.

Can anyone help me with the answer?

Click on the link in my signature for the Baseball Chronology. Once the site opens, click on the link (middle top) for MLB Team Info.

1. Isn't that just the Major Leagues' minor league affiliates? I think that's what MAL stands for in this game, although it's not a commonly-used abbreviation in real-life.

2. No, they're not the real names or a fictionalized version of real players. They are purely fictional players.

For information about the real-life minor leagues:

www.minorleaguebaseball.com

Be aware that the default MAL minor league structure does not mirror the real-life structure of minor league baseball, so you might need to customize the minors as you add them.

By default, no. Well, the structures of the parent leagues are real (MAL has 30 teams, split up the same way as Major League Baseball), but affiliated minor leagues will, by default, inherit the structure of the parent league - this is extremely easy to change, however.

As far as the players being fictional, this is the way OOTP has been doing it for years - MLB/MLBPA licensing was looked into, but SI felt it would be cost-prohibitive. I'm not sure if they looked into licenses for other leagues or not. Chances are, without MLB, they didn't really think it would be worth it.

You might be best served looking around for QuickStarts or Templates that have all of that stuff pre-configured, too. There are a few of them floating around the Mods forums here.

How do I do that? I've already changed the names in the MLB, AAA, AA, A, S A and R. So, what else can I do. I can't change the league structures even though some of the leagues are a little different from real life.

Wait... huh? The default structure doesn't? AFAIK, if you check the box next to "Major American League" you'll get MLB, the Pacific Coast League, the International League, etc. all as they should be with the correct cities (although the nicknames will be made up). It's only if you create a new MLB from scratch and then use the "Add all levels of minor leagues" option that only one affiliate per team for each level is added.

Ah. That's what I had been doing. Sorry for the misinformation.

Which one should I be looking for then if I want the correct names of the teams and of the players? Because I'm looking to have the entire game (International leagues as well!!) corrected and made into RL temas and players.

I don't think one has been made that covers the entire baseball world. Given the lack of readily available international baseball information out there, that may take a loooooooooong time.

Like eriqjaffe said, they'll be in the Mods forum. The Arod23/Garlon database and the Cubby/Rolen database are the two most popular so far. They're both real-life databases.
