A few newbie questions

I've played a couple of season after installing all patches and the rolen/cubby roster and am running into some problems. I've done some searching but haven't found answers to my questions...could be because I'm blind so I apologize up front if they were indeed answered.

1) Almost all of my veteran players seem to suck while rookies/prospects are amazing. Guys like Tony Sipp have ERAs barely over 1 while studs like Johan Santana are getting bombed.

2) Teams balk at most trades involving veterans saying "I will not accept trades involving vastly overpaid players". I could offer Vlad Guerrero for a single A player and get that response. Makes no sense and is highly frustrating.

3) No one is getting elected to the hall of fame. Do they have to have been retired for 5 years or is the AI just not working?

Thanks for your help!

1) I believe this is more a result of the user-rosters. The players are rated lower than the minor league potentials. Unless you edit it yourself, this is going to happen every time you run a new league.

2) Probably a money issue. Vlad Guerrero isn't the Vlad you know according to the AI. Instead, he's just a baseball player that makes more money than the team is willing to pay.

3) Check your HOF settings. Perhaps the qualifiers are too high and no one is reaching them.

If you've only played a couple of seasons, you'r Hall of Fame criteria would have to be set pretty low for anyone to qualify. I wouldn't expect to see anyone in the hall in less than fiffteen years, but that's just me.
