Odd shut down when viewing my team

Downloaded the OOTP 2007 to give the overall game a try and see if i wanted to go ahead and purchase a more up to date version
and was really enjoying some of the features, and thought the ease of play was pretty good

the game was playing fine on my laptop HP Vista system for a day, then
without the power cord in, my laptop shut off due to battery in the middle of a OOTP game

Since that time i can do most everything in the game- i can play a saved season, play games in that season, auto play activities
but as soon as i open up the screens for my own team (ie click to rosters, lineups or what not) the entire game crashes
I thought it could be memory issue, so i deleted all old game sims that were part of OOTP leaving just one left as a test.
so far can not get back into the screen

any suggestions

PS as a note i even uninstalled the game, the reinstalled (all the leagues returned to the new install) but the same problem continued

Wanted to say thanks to everyone popping to view this thread
what i did was to go through and uninstal the game completely including the stored files

OOTP crashes when opening manager mail - Kayako eSupport Help Desk Software

reinstalled, and the game so far seems to be doing fine. will keep you posted and see if it gets me through at least 10 years of sim play
