ELSA Needs Just 2 (OOTP5)
The ELSA is a recreation of the 1940's and 1950's Eastern League and Southern Association. The teams and stadiums are historically accurate. The players are fictitious. The financial scheme is scaled down and unqiue. It is very possible to go from last place to a winning record and possibly a playoff spot in just one offseason.
The openings we have at this time are Wilkes-Barre, and Utica after filling the New Orleans opening recently. Wilkes-Barre is 56-71, 6th in the E.L. They are in the red in cash (-$1.2M) but are forecasted to make a profit of $1.1M as they have only the 9th highest payroll. Wilkes-Barre's minor league system is 7th of 16. Utica is a team that has recently had their only owner ever resign. They have never had a losing record, but are 47-78 this year, in line for the #1 draft pick in next year's draft. Utica has $381K in the bank and the 11th largest payroll in ELSA. They should turn a modest profit this year and they have needs in their minor leagues as the system is ranked 14th.
