Best Online Leagues
This thread doesn't have much purpose, but it would be interesting to see which leagues people think are the class of OOTP and why you think so. Remember this is not your favorite league, but simply one that you're in, or not in, that you think is worthy of being called one of OOTP's best.

Time Warp
It's a league, it's a dynasty, it has your relatives and friends. It has over 60 years of history, it has 20 years of live GM participation. The future GMs hang around the league forum participating and impatiently await their chance to run a team in this most competitive league. After 20 seasons most of the GMs have been around from the beginning. There is passion. Which sometimes break out into forum brawls. Just some good old competitive hardball. And holding this all together is the most dedicated commissioner there is. Matt ran this as a dynasty for 45 seasons, regularly posting updates in the dynasty forum (until the great crash) He maintains the database of ancestors, keeps the GMs in line, and gets the sims done on time. It's not uncommon to have most of the GMs on the message boards at the same time. Which makes it more than just a league. There are articles, dynasties within the dynasty, stat dumps, stat analysis. Voting for GM of the year. Voting by the OOTP community for the Hall of Fame. Voting by a veterans committee. The league tries to follow the rules and storylines of MLB, but with fictional players. However through the dedication of Matt and the GMs these players have become real within the TWB universe. People argue player vs. player as if they were real. Doesn't get any better than this. Did I mention, Matt's the best Commish there is? |

USBA (run by Scott Fite) gets my vote as one of the best. It's been around for 4 years, has a solid core of owners, active messageboard, and is probably the best fictional out there.

I have to say Nex Gen baseball league is the best one in the OOTP community. Here's the link.

NGBL has been one of the best for awhile. They're easy to forget about, for some reason.

Time Warp has always really impressed me.
The USBA is top-notch! Others? CDL MLBC (Jestre's league, right?) is a study in steady longevity. Good stuff there. NARBL run by Gary Graves is a nice league and has some great owners. Gary has also done a nice job in taking over SO49 and starting what will hopefully be a great restoration for that league as well. ABC and the Pro Circuit appear to be very solid as well. There are a couple of other leagues I visit routinely but they escape me at the moment.

Cooleyvol puts a lot of heart and effort into making it a solid and interesting league, and I'd recommend the league to anyone.

Gary is a great commish
The NARBL is a great league. I'm on the waiting list to get back in.
When I read that Gary was commish of SO49 I tried to join, but the database says it's defunct and the site is missing.
