Frustrated Veteran commish

I have been an avid OOTP gamer since OOTP4. I became a Commish at that time and have grown with OOTP thru all the new versions of the game. I have recruited new owners and required ownership of the current game for participation in my leagues. I have to say that this new version of the game has been my worst nightmare thus far. I ask for assistance in setting up the game so that I can upload the html files needed for a OOTP2006 website. Am I wrong in assuming that the method to upload to my website is the same as in the past. I have read the manual and believe I have the proper settings to successfully do this. I have failed repeatedly and have not had any response for helping me conquer this task. I fear that I will lose members of my league and their commitment to buying the new game if I don't resolve this problem. I ask that someone from the game offer help.

Have you tried following Fidel's tutorial at: OOTPBB 2006 Upload Reports Super Fast Tutorial ? Is there some point in it at which you have a problem? Maybe you can detail the steps you are taking and one of us can help you overcome it.

If you have shell access on your site, just zip the entire reports folder up and upload it. Go to your control panel and browse to the zip file once its up. Click on it and hit extract.

If you don't have shell access, fidel's method will work.

No Luck

I am using http://www.bttf.ootp-online.com/index.shtml

as my website. I have no problems when using the OOTP6.5 game for my old league. When I use the new game and follow the same procedures I have done ever since OOTP6.5 came out....................the new league does not load.

My link from the standings page is this: http://www.bttf.ootp-online.com/ootp/

When I click on the link to my league major league mlb

It fails...............dead link...............don't understand why?

When you generate your reports, do you have all boxes checked?

question answered in other forum.

Its a directory change in the new format of the reports.

Easily fixable.

You have your reports in a directory called 'ootp'. The old version of the game had all the reports in one folder, no sub-folders.

The new reports are created in a directory called 'reports'. The new version has files in this 'reports' folder AND other folders inside there as well. Those sub folders have files in them as well.

You need to change the link on your website from what it is now to www.thenameofyoursite.com/reports so that when clicking on your link to the index page of the reports, it will go to the correct place now.

AIM me (cooleyvol) and I'll explain the part about putting your files up. Its too involved to do on a messageboard post.

Steve, catch me on AIM around noon tomorrow and we'll get it straightened out.

Did you upload from the game or through ftp?
