Several openings in ATH - ATH wants you!
If you're an active owner >
I can be contacted about any of the teams below at neohemp@gmail.com, and the league is at http://ath-ootp.online.com/We have several openings. After a transitionary stage between changing commishes and the current commish having problems, we are finally at a steady pace and back to about 90% of our former glory. We are a well establish league (http://www.ath-ootp.online.com/) and are looking for active owners to take care of these teams. We are just starting the offseason so you have a chance to rebuild or reinforce the teams! Here are the teams that are open: Oakland Athletics - The Athletics were owned by the former commish, and then he had to bow out, then they were taken over by another owner who also unfortunately had to bow out. They are probably the most dominate team in the AL, and are currently duking it out with the Cubs in the World Series. This one will probably go fast, but I'm only looking for serious owners who will be active! (That goes for all these teams though )Detroit Tigers - The Tigers are in a fairly easy division with the exception of the Royals. They had an 80-82 record and could easily be strengthened this offseason. Los Angeles Dodgers - The Dodgers have a good pitching staff, but suffered immensely due to their hitting. Another team that could probably be strengthened a bit in the free agency, but would probably be better off being rebuilt Minnesota Twins - The Twins also fell victim to the same plague as the Athletics, although they didn't fair as well. The first owners of the Twins was a dominate force in the ATH and the team was definitely one to reckon with. Trust me, I dueled him when I was owner of the Indians ![]() The team was then taken over by another owner, who also bowed out, and now it needs some TLC to become dominate again. Washington Nationals - One of our veteran owners came along to try to ressurect the Nats but couldn't stick around. Another decent team that could be dominate with a little TLC. We will also have more teams coming open I imagine, up to 5. I'm awaiting responses from some owners, but keep an eye on this thread if all these go quickly, because more will come up. This is definitely the best league I've ever been in, as a player and a commish both, and if you think you could fair well with a team please email me at Last edited by neohemp; 08-10-2009 at 08:52 AM. |

You've got your choice of a dominate team in Oakland (check out Hernan Enos)....a consistent contender of the past 7-8 seasons in Detroit...a former contender in Minnesota trying to reclaim its former glory...and a Dodger team who was one of the initial contenders when we first started this league years ago in when OOTP 5 first came out.
We're about to start our offseason so if you are looking for a new league and want to be able to participate in Free Agency and the draft from the get-go drop us a email. We sim 3 days a week, 7 days each. |

This is a great league with some very solid team owners (except for me as my team sux in this league)... Last check, there were 2 teams open. The new commissioner has done a solid job on replacing two former commissioners and sims/schedules are updated accordingly. Come check us out.

Thats one thing I really love about this league....the orginal commish went on vacation and never came back, this was 3-4 years ago real-time. Matt stepped up and later I helped him. Matt gets married....I'm engaged with a wedding in October...we both knew time was going to be limited as far as running any online leagues....with a lot of leagues that can be the sentence of doom...but everytime the ATH is faced with those obstacles....someone always steps up and takes the torch. Kudos to Dave for stepping up to the plate.

Washington has been filled and we have four teams left.
Texas Pittsburgh Toronto San Juan Our next round of FA (days 5-8) is on 7/7/06, so the sooner you get in the sooner you can analyze that free agency and place some bids :-) |

Boston Red Sox
The Red Sox finished 2nd place last season going 91-71 finishing 7 GB of the Yankees. They have a young core led by one of the best young catchers in the game Dominic McCormick. The 91 wins were their best finish in 10 seasons. They are a solid team I would classify as a contender for the post season. I think they are a piece or two away from being a contender for the ATH Title. New York Yankees The Yankees, as one would expect, have been one of the elite teams in this league. They have one 10 division titles in 13 seasons and never finishing lower than 2nd. They have perhaps the best player in the league in Juan Pablo Osuna. Do you like being the team everyone loves to beat and hates to lose to...than the Yankees are the team for you. San Juan (formely TB Devil Rays) The Seawolves needs some TLC. They haven't posted a winning record since 2010 (we are in the preseason of 2016) and have only managed 2 winning seasons out of 13. Unlike the Yankees...you take the Seawolves...you will be taking a challenge. They need upgrades to their roster while competing directly with two teams with larger financial resources in Boston and especially New York. Surprisingly, this team has had only two GM's in their history. Washington Nationals The Nationals relocated from Montreal much like their real-life counterpart, but did so much later at the start of the 2013 season. They typically are fairly competitve team notching 7 seasons (out of 13) with 81 or more wins. They have 1 division title in their history. Over the past four seasons they have posted 82, 90, 83 and 81 wins. As you can see..competitive but not quite there. They have to contend with the Braves, who are run by myself, who have been top team for the past 5-6 years. Is the time right for a new king of the East to be crowned? Pittsburgh Pirates The Pirates have been in a similar spot as the Nationals. The Cubs have been one of the best teams in the entire league...and while the Bucs have been better than you would think, they haven't gotten past Chicago. They have posted win totals of 79, 86, 80, 80, 84, and 87 over the past 6 seasons, good enough for 5 3rd place finishes and 1 fourth. Are you the right GM to crack Chicago's stranglehold on the division? Above teams are open. Please check us at http://www.ath.ootp-online.com/ If you'd like to join please contact the commisioner at neohemp@gmail.com Please specify which team you would prefer. We encourage newcomers & vets to join the fun. |

Oakland (again) and Baltimore are now open. Both good teams, so now we have these teams open:
Boston Oakland New York (A) San Juan Washington Baltimore Again the URL is http://ath.ootp-online.com/ and if you're interested in joining email me at neohemp@gmail.com. I'm usually up between 8 am and noon. All sims are ran in the A.M. as I work third shift, so this is a good league for early birds! Just let me know! |
