Solid league with great leadership and a great group of GM's. If you want a friendly fictional league that you can rely on to not close its door the season after you join....the WLB is for you.

In the 22 complete seasons in the WLB Montreal has never won 100 games and has never lost 100 games. We need a GM that wants to take perrenial average .500ish team and take them to the next level.
Coming into our current season they are 1731-1835 (.485). They have just 1 division title and 1 wild card berth. In both cases they advanced to the Western Hemisphere League Championship before being knocked out. One of the neat aspects of a league that has been around for as many seasons as the WLB is that with teams like Montreal you can change the face and history of a franchise like this. String together some success and you and all the other GM's will see the impact of your team with you at the helm. Its a great league to join for people wanting to try online leagues for the first time as everyone is friendly and patient. Its also a challenge for experienced online players as you either have to be uber aggressive or uber patient in terms of developing your team. |

Yeah I'd guess my Shanghai franchise would fall ino the "uber patient' category. But despite my team's general horridness it is truly a great league and a lot of fun, the other GMs are great to deal with and the history and stories surrounding the league make the WLB championship very lucrative.

This is the first online league I joined, close to 4½ (real) years ago. I've had to leave it occasionally, but never for very long.
The WLB is well-kept, user-friendly but highly competitve. If you're looking for a league that's established, stable, absorbing, with a great history -- one that just feels right, you know what I mean? -- you could do worse than to check this one out. I'll be here in Rome waiting for you.
