Create a league file: You can do this in the game.
Go to game/game setup. Click on Upload League file Set which settings you want. Click on create Archive. The archive will be stored in your leagues import_export folder as a tar.gz archive (notice it isn't a .zip, so special software is needed to unzip it. WinZip works.) Upload the File You can upload the file in game as well. By simply clicking on "upload file" in that same dialog box as create archive in the previous steps. If you prefer, you can use an FTP client to upload the file to your server. Then, create a link on your site to the location of the file. Download the File This feature is in the game also, but right now it has some bugs. The next patch is supposed to fix those bugs. So, once that happens, all an owner has to do is go to game/Load Online League File and everything is taken care of for them. They need to make sure that their league.lg folder is named identical to what the commish has. Until that feature works. All someone has to do to download a file, is click on the link that you create for the file. Exporting League File This is only necessary if you don't use the in game features for downloading. You have to open the tar.gz file with winzip or another program that can decompress tar.gz files. Then, you extract the files into the league.lg folder (or whatever you have it named). Your done! Remember these steps are all based on using the in game feature to create the archive. I hope this helps. If I was unclear about something, please let me know.

thanks so much. I was almost right. I have made teh league file in game but when I try and upload it it comes back with an error. I run the test of my settings and they work ok so they are correct.
Where is the option to import the league file for my owners? Also you say they need to have there league.lg file match mine...how do they create it? set up a universe and then overwrite it with my file?

I'm not sure what would cause the upload error. But you can use an external FTP client.
The option to load the file is under the game menu. I believe you wont see the option in commish mode, only as an owner. It is specifically called "Load Online League File". for the league.lg file to match they just go into windows explorer and create a folder called league.lg (or whatever you want it to be called). Then, the league file will export into that empty folder. They don't actually have to set up a league. Just the folder. I hope I answered your questions.

Ok that got it, the only thing I see that is wrong is that the logos for the leagues didn't move over with the file. Know aything about that?

You could zip up the images manually outside the game and post them on your site for the rest of your league to download. Just have them put it in the league.lg/news/html/images folder. That will do the trick.

How do you create the initial file for a league though? I mean, if the league doesn't already exist how do owners choose the option to download the latest file?

for the initial file, you do it the same way as above. When you are creating the file, make sure you include the names.dat (there's an option for that in the file setup). Then, after you upload it to your server, place a link to the file on your website.
