ATH Needs a New San Francisco Giants GM

Around the Horn Baseball League was established in March of 2003. We started off with the Total Minors roster set (courtesy of GForce) in the 2003 season. We are currently are at the all-star break of the 2016 season. We sim 3-times a week (MON-WED-FRI) 7 days each.

We're looking for a GM to take over the Giants franchise. Someone who wants the team and wants to be apart of the league. Your participation can be as little or as much as you'd like it to be and that your schedule will allow. All we ask is that you try to make San Francisco into a good team, a competitive team, but most importantly....YOUR team.

We try to make the league interactive for the GM's by voting on the all-star starters with the reserves being selected by the current AL and NL league champions. We also vote on who wins the end of season awards: Cy Young, MVP, Rookie of the Year, and GM of the Year. If writing is your thing, you can post your team or league news articles directly to the front page using the simple but handy Coranto utility.

Here is some back ground on the San Francisco Giants

Entering the 2016 season the Giants franchise has gone 954-1151 .453. Up until recently they were a perrenial loser posting 10 straight losing seasons from 2003 to 2012. The past 3 seasons however they finally turned the corner and won 2 of the last 3 NL West Division titles and advancing to the NLCS both times. This season however they have been on a slide mainly due to GM neglect (which is where you come in

Curently they are in 4th place at 42-47 11.5 GB of the Arizona Diamondbacks. They have the 21st ranked farm system. They have a 69.2 mil payroll, 10th in the league. This team is good enough to be competitive in the division they play in. You could also go in the other directions and trade away SF veterans to build for tomorrow. This is one of those teams who is not far from contending or rebuilding. You options to go either way.
