I need some long term help setting up a league
First off, the person I need to help me, will have to be extremly patient as I'm waiting until January 1st at the earliest to start hiring GMs and Players.
I'm working on a big project that will include one league, real MLB rosters, and another foreign league that will start as a 10-Team Player's League (hopefully with popularity it'll expand to more). I've been working on it off and on since early August. Obviously it's a big project to put together, but at the same time there's 4 months to put it together. I have a lot of big plans for the league, but I really need someone to bounce ideas off that will work with me and take over one of the jobs of AL President, NL President, or Head of CBL (The Foreign Player's League). That's basically all I want to reveal for now. If your interested in helping out for the next 4 months PM me. I need someone that's as dedicated to me to work this out. I also am going to need someone with the game. Also if you think you'll be interested when I begin bringing in GMs and Players PM me your e-mail or AIM and I could contact you when that happens or I could also keep you up to date with how the league set-up is going. I'm also looking for a Graphics person, but if I can't find that now, I can definetly wait for a few months. Last edited by XFBcommish : 09-02-2006 at 09:23 PM. |

Yeah I realize that, but by then it'll be deep into Free Agency and there won't be any or hardly any big names remaining to deal with and there should be some good roster sets coming out around that time.
It also provides time to fill in every detail about the league. It's not like it's work upon work upon work. I put in a couple hours a week on it to make sure everything is going to be possible and won't have major problems. There's a ton of work to do, but in this time you can think of everything that could happen and fix it. |

Guess it's time for my every week or so bump.
I'm suprised no one is willing to commit to a decent size project, but given an extremely long amount of time to put it together. All that's needed is someone who can commit to the league, have patience, and some decent orgainizational skills. Basically all I'm doing is trouble shooting some ideas and putting up the messege board and compiling some basic rules and stuff. |

sorry to burst your bubble dude, but the OOTP community seems to have taken a firm stance against using ootp2006 as an online league engine. thats why i am guessing you have very little feedback.

Actually, Zubes, I don't find that to be the case.
I am in some good online leagues using OOTP 2006.

well i guess my question then becomes, are they all full, and if owners have quit already, how long did it take to replace them?
and are there any difficulties that you have seen so far with using ootp2006 for an online league?

The 2006 leagues i'm have the same turnover rate that a normal OOTP league has. I'm in a couple that are full, but have had guys quit due to numerous reasons, one or two because they didn't like the OOTP 2006 interface. It hasn't been hard to replace these owners either, and generally in a couple days a replacement is found.
The online league difficulties have been fixed, and there are currently no online league related OOTP problems.

I think it helps to have a smaller league though. I wouldn't want to run a full MLB league or any of those with a huge universe. |

Well for this position, I'm looking for someone who will perferrably be the Head of the CBL (The Foreign/Player's League), which is probably only a 12-14 team league, but would also be able to be the AL President or NL President if they wanted to be in the MLB league. As well as that position though, they'd also be helping to work on the league.
I really would be suprised if I got someone this early, but it doesn't hurt to try, and it'd be nice to have. I do think I'll be able to get someone as I get closer to Jan. 1st. |

Well there's still October, November, and December for someone to sign up.
I just got a laptop and have gotten internet up on it, so I finally have my own internet connection instead of having to use someone else's, so I'll be able to work on the league even more. I am still looking for some help, if anyone is out there looking for a long term league, with some pre-league 3 month commitment to help set the league up. |

Although I'd like to wait until January 1st, if I got someone reliable to begin helping now, we could open the league within a week or two.
So if someone isn't so committed to spending months and months setting up and just wants to spend a short set-up time and then open the league, that'd be perfect. Maybe that'll spark some interest. |

I'm looking at opening this league up at the end of October/Early November as I have realized that waiting until January would be unneeded and I could put the same amount of work into the league in a much shorter amount of time.
If I can get someone to help me we could probably open the league up by Friday this week or shortly after. All I need is someone who can be commited to a league and will frequently visit the league site and that has OOTP. Also, if your someone who is interested in a 2006 January 2nd MLB roster with a foreign leauge that's made up of ficitional players AND created players (by people, so the league is half ficitional and half a player's league) I'm looking for both GMs and Players now and I can contact you right when the league is opened so you can be gareenteed a spot.
