MBBA: An active OOTP'ers dream!
Greetings OOTPers! Many of you may have already heard of the Monty Brewster Baseball Association, but some of you may have not heard of us. I'll give you a little history.
We've been around for 21 full simmed season now, and we're just starting the offseason for our 22nd season. We're finishing off this offseason in OOTP6.5, and then we'll be making the perilous leap (look mom, no hands!) into OOTP:2006 and all of its splendor. We're a fictional league, with a lot of detail and participation. We do have a full CATO history, which we'll carry over and have as a resource. Obviously some things will change as we move to 2006, but we'll still keep our elaborate Participation Point system, creativity, high forum activity, general goofiness, and cool programs such as Custom Amateurs, our feeder league (All American Baseball Association), and a prospect development league (Florida Prospect Developmental League). We also have been doing defectors from the Major Leagues (MLB) and will continue to do so, but OOTP 2006 is cool so the majors will actually be simmed in conjunction with the league. We're looking for someone who has these traits and desires for an online league experience: 1) Someone who is able to be on the forums a lot. If you have a desk job, and need a diversion throughout the day, the MBBA is for you. If you rarely come on line, and rarely check the forums, it's not. If you can't check the forums at least 2x a day, the MBBA probably isn't the league for you. 2) Someone who is creative and likes to write. This is a WRITING league. If you don't like to write, then the MBBA isn't for you. If you have been craving an online league that has 24 active participants who spend time writing articles both on their team and the league in general, bringing the league to life, look no further. 3) Someone who is really, really fanatical about this stuff. Hey, it's not for everyone. We're a bunch of nutjobs when it comes down to it. But we have a good time. Does this sound like exactly what you're looking for? Then don't be shy, and don't waste another minute waiting for the right league to come around. Come talk to us: Forums Instructions to Apply for Team Ownership in the MBBA We currently have one team open, I won't say which one. We might have more opportunities for people to get involved in the alternate leagues that will be associated in our universe. Really I'm looking for one person to get involved, but if I get 50, then I'll find something for each and every one of you. Hope to hear from you soon!

This is a prime opportunity for an active GM.
You get an elaborate and well-balanced league with friendly and competitive GMs, with plenty of forum activity and timely sims. Not to mention that you're getting a pretty solid team, as well. ![]()

From the Channel Five News Team to TV Stars. From professional wrestlers to Doogie Howser. Or, uh... this Doogie Howser.
We have a Widomaker, a Toothbreaker, a Headhunter, and even a Resurrection. The MBBA is a league with an awesome group of owners who are all huge dorks that love fake online baseball. We laugh, we cry, we make fun of each others moms (and Ron's Hermione lookalike wife). It's a good time, and the only league you'll want to be in after you join. Oh, and any league that has its very own Stunt Bum is worth checking out. |

We actually did have a few people check out the league, even register. That being said, I'm going to keep this opening for another day or two.
The team open is the Hawaii Tropics. ![]() They have a lot to be excited about, actually. They barely missed the playoffs last season, and have some decent players that would garner some big interest on the trade market if that's the way the new owner wanted to go. They aren't in the best of financial shape, so would probably require a re-tool. Come see us!

We've had a couple good applicants for the Hawaii post but there is still some time before a decision is made.
Also, if you want to get in early on being a part of the MBBA before we switch to 2006 and become a larger universe in a couple weeks, act now!

We found our Hawaii owner and a couple more guys who are going to be really good as well.
Next week I'll be rolling out the new OOTP:2006 file for the MBBA, which will include the MLB subleague (1995 rosters) and our affiliated independent leagues. We will be looking for owners for those teams so if you want to get involved, come over and see us now. Remember, the early bird gets the worm. ![]()
