I think Maelstrom is one of just a handful that jumped in...other than leagues that have just started.

eMLB (www.emlb-baseball.com), is converting right now, as we get ready to enter our 14th season.

We'll keep everyone posted on how things go.

Cooley's Pro Circuit switched over, but we didn't even finish a season with v2006. I don't know if the owners just didn't enjoy the new version (that was my issue, I guess) or if there were other problems entirely. We're on extended hiatus now.

Monty Brewster Baseball Association is another of the long established leagues that took the plunge. We've had our share of ups and downs, but I really like the new game and look forward to the 2007 edition.

Thanks for the input guys. FWIW, the FOBL expects to switch to OOTP 2006 in our next off season (from OOTP v5). The CDL is considering a switch, but so far the active owner input has been lukewarm. I just want to gauge community interest in this kind of conversion as well as how many admin challenges lie ahead. I'll check out your conversion blog Sporr.

APBL has not switched. The last time owners were polled it was pretty unanimous that no one wanted to switch. Hopefully OOTP 2007 will bring in these owners as I much prefer the depth of 2006 for online play.

The ATHFBL moved but moved back to 6.5a

The ATHFBL moved from OOTP6.5a to OOTP2006, but after a 30 Game trial the GM's wanted to move back to OOTP6.5a. There was just too many things that the GM's didn't understand and there were a few problems we just couldn't get fixed.

We really wish OOTP6.5a could be tweaked to be able to handle a Rookie A Minor League Team and have the ability to have Play-Offs in the Minor Leagues. Then 6.5a would be the BEST ever in my eyes.

Hopefully OOTP2007 will be set up where there is no major problem in it. Then we'll be able to switch to 2007.

Thanks, Rick (RJB7777777)

2006 is manageable but by no means perfect for online league play. 2007 should address many of those concerns as well as reinstating some lost features from 6.5, ie stars, etc.

If you're uneasy, I'd suggest waiting. If you're brave like me, definitely do it now. 2006 is so much better than any other version of OOTP it's silly.

The VSBL is in the process. We have been running the same rosters since OOTP 4, so it was hard to jettison it, but we are doing our best to get it off the ground.

I am having league zip issues. I know the game has an internal league file maker, but there seems to be no way for non-commish managers to download it.

We still use our own zip program to make sure everything we want is included.

Last time I polled the MLBCentury 2 or 3 owners voted to go along with the majority and the remaining 13-14 owners voted to stay with 6.5.

Your owners will be able to download the file the game creates after you upload it to an FTP server, either from within the game or externally.
The game creates a tar.gz archive, so your owners will need a program like ZipGenius, or WinRar to be able to extract the tar.gz file.
If you need help creating the league file, I recommend the GAME GUIDE.

The United League switched over. We had some conversion issues but we are going strong heading into our 14th season.
