Are 2006 Online Leagues Dead?

It seems like no new leagues come out now a days, and if they do they take forever to fill. Would it be safe to assume everyone is filled up in terms of new leagues, or is it the 2006 software that is not online friendly?

It's your lucky day, i have an opening in the BBL

I need an owner for the Brooklyn Dodgers team. At seasons end you get the option of changing your team name, city, state etc. incl. logo

email me your info to

Not dead at all, though there are few brave (or stupid) enough to take the leap.

The Monty Brewster Baseball Association has, and we're going strong and fighting through the issues.

No current openings, but I suggest that anyone interested should stop by, register, get involved.

If I find enough people to feel confident that I'd have quality owners, I'll open up the MLB teams in our universe to human ownership, but not until I see 28 people pop in who are active and contributing to the cause.

Prove me right, folks.

For more on the MBBA, see the "Chronicles of the Monty Brewster Baseball Association" dynasty thread.

only have 1 that has converted and we may be "dead" as this years rookie imports (first draft since converting) are "bombing" and it is happening with every db the commish has tried.....

The ULB Is On!

Our recently founded league, Union League Baseball is off and running after taking not realy all that long to get moving. I can't speak for the commish, but we might be looking to expand after the first season (we just hit our first spring training). Feel free to drop by our forums and fill out an application so we can keep you in mind if/when expansion happens.

OOTP 6.51 leagues are stronger than ever and growing by the day. Once OOTP2007 comes out I think people will look back at OOTP2006 and think of it like the ugly step child. No one really likes it but feels kind of sorry for it but isn't sure what to do with it. In the meantime OOTP 6.51 and OOTP2007 will get all of the attention.

i disagree. If v6.5 leagues were doing so well they wouldn't post in the v2006 online league threads looking for owners.

For the first time, i have gotten unsolicited invitations to join several v6.5 leagues. This is because it is getting harder and harder to fill teams when owners leave. i'm in two v6.5 leagues, so i know this first hand.

i think v2006 got a bad rep from solo players that suffered shock from a new interface and online leagues that upgraded too soon. But there are v2006 leagues that are doing well. i'm in one of the them.

v2006 is not perfect. But neither was v6.5. When v2007 comes out (if it is successful) it will no doubt overshadow v2006. But not because v2006 was bad. But because v2007 is better; just like v6.5 was better than v6, like v6 was better than v5, etc.

And i don't doubt that there will be many of the good v6.5 leagues that continue to survive. (Hopefully, PABF and LBA do, if we don't make the switch.) Just like i think there are still a few v5 leagues kicking around.
