MCBL: The year is 1955...
This is an OOTP6.5 league.
The Mid-Century Baseball League (MCBL) started in 1950 and is presently in the 1955 season. The website is http://www.mcbl.us If you are interested, stop by and leave your information on the Waitlist Forum. The league sims 3 times a week, 8 days per sim. As of today, there are 2 openings. The Baltimore Orioles and the Detroit Tigers are both available. Baltimore is 10 games out of first and are anchored by Roy Sievers, Red Shoendienst, Joe Adcock, Harvey Haddix, and Bob Friend. Detroit is 11 games out of first and stars of the team include one of the best catchers in the league, Joe Ginsberg, George Kell, Hank Thompson, Sandy Amoros and the big hilights of Hal Newhouser and Jack Banta. Pitching staff is one of the best in the league. |

Back in 1955, you could have found wireboy at Griffith Stadium, watching the Senators play. Now it's 1955 again, and I'm running the team. What a deal!
And you could be whipping up on my Nats. Why not? This is a great era, and great baseball. And this league, and its companion league, the CIBL, are extremely well run. |

It's hard to believe that these teams are still out there. There are some real legends playing for Baltimore and KC, waiting for a little guidance from a good GM.
Any fellow old coots out there who'd like to take on a '50s team? Or just somebody who'd like to live some baseball history in a well-run league? |
