New League with a Twist

Hello,

My name is Jaryd. I used to commish the 1901HistoryLeague, but my PC crashed and I never started it up again. So basically I quit the league. I'm letting you all know that yes, I have commished a league before and quit, because I wasn't ready to commish. As commissioner of this new league, I want all the owners to know anything they want about me, as I feel honesty is the way to start a league. So before you join.. realize you are getting into a league with a commish who has quit his league before. However, after I quit the league, I have spent the past month reviewing online leagues and finding out how to do things correctly. I've studied the famous CDL, OOL, and Baseball Maelstrom trying to find out the best way to run a league. I now have the time, and dedication to run a successful league. So here is what I came up with

The CBL (Central Baseball League) http://cbl-sim.tripod.com/index.htm is a 16 team fictional league. However, there is a twist to the league. I got this idea from the Baseball Maelstrom. Each owner will select a current MLB All-Star to join his team of fictional players. The MLB all-star will start at the age of 22, with half of his talent ratings, but his full potential in skill ratings.


Mission Statement

The CBL has been created to bring back 16 MLB All-Stars and reset their career to the age of 22. The goal of this league is to try and get your CBL all-star to end up having a better career then the player really did. Once all original CBL players have retired, a two week poll will be given to as many baseball "experts" as possible, and whoever's original player has the best CBL career compared to their original career will win a prize (value around 200 dollars)


Some Rules-

The player must be an all-star caliber player

You can not trade your CBL All-Star

All CBL All-Stars will have their ratings cut in half, with their abilities staying the same

All CBL players will start at the age of 22

Each team MUST make a team website and update it weekly


The CBL is free of most rules, as the owners will guide the way as we go along. If interested in joining, email me at cblcommish2002@yahoo.com with the MLB All Star you want. All types of owners welcome, whether you are a beginner or you are a 10 year veteran who has 20 leagues. As long as you are active you can't go wrong. Also make sure you are able to make a website (it can be the crappiest website ever, just put a little effort into it and that will be ok).

We will conduct a 10 round initial draft Saturday Night, 9 PM eastern time. You will draft your first 10 players (not counting ur MLB all star) and then CPU will finish the last 24 rounds

The name is not a twist... I think there's at least two other leagues with the name CBL... and wasn't the 1901HistoryLeague just a month or so ago? And you're ready NOW? Interesting

If I calculate this right.. thats 1 month of extra time

I have the freedom to start a league if I would like, and I don't need people like you bashing me. I clearly gave a warning saying I had quit a past league before. So please leave this post alone unless you plan on joining. It's people like you who make these boards full of arguing. Not to mention a name doesnt make the league interesting. its whats inside the league that makes it different
