Grand Ole Game has openings

The Grand Ole Game has several openings. Currently available are the Philadelphia Athletics, Louisville Colonels, Washington Nationals and Indianapolis Hoosiers.

What the heck is GOG, you ask? Well, it's a historical-hybrid league, which began play in 1888 (we're in 1890 right now). The hybrid comes in because:
1) players debut two seasons before their actual debut to allow them time to develop (and you time to teach them a new position if needed). Their skills are lessened, but the potential will remain the same.
2) Players are normalized for differences between the NL, AA, PL, etc and for ballpark effects to give as accurate a portrayal of a players true skills as possible.
3) the late 19th century was a tempestous time for MLB - several leagues came and went and there were anywhere from 8 to 24 teams operating. GOG will have 16 teams throughout the 1890s.
4) You will have the ability to relocate your teams - not neccessarily where the team actually went, but to other markets which at one time supported a ML franchise.

GOG uses finances (depressed to better reflect the period) with coaches and scouts turned off.

We are currently preparing for the 1890 free agency period with the draft to follow, so now is the best time to get in and make a mark with your new team.

If you're interested, please check out the website (the Wallman DB will be going up soon to cover our first two seasons), peruse the rules, etc and drop me an email at commish@legendsport.com or legendsport@comcast.net

Thanks,
Joe

The KC Cowboys have picked up a new top man. The A's & Hoosiers are still looking for new leadership. I'm holding the offseason to give the new blood the best opportunity to get in the important personnel decisions for the upcoming season.

Wee Willie needs a home

That's right, Hall-of-Famer Wee Willie Keeler is about to be a rookie in the Grand Ole Game league and he needs a home. Two teams are still available in the 19th century's hottest league. Join GOG today!

Still four openings in the Grand Ole Game league - Indianapolis, Washington, Louisville and the Philadelphia A's are both available. The season will get underway next week, so act now to get in before things get rolling.

The A's have Louisville have been taken - Indianapolis and Washington remain available.

I'm holding the off-season til I get the league filled.

Only the Indianapolis Hoosiers remain available. This is a good team whose former GM was very much on the ball, so you could step right into a good situation.

Act now to get in before free agency and the draft, which will be held later this week regardless of whether this opening is filled.

Thanks,
Joe
