Looking for a League to Join? Post In This Thread!

Instead of having leagues having to keep on the lookout for people posting saying that they're looking for a league, let's have people looking for leagues post in this thread and then league members can just subscribe to it thereby getting notices to check it whenever someone expresses interest.

In addition, if someone posts that they're looking for a league but they didn't post about it in this thread, then anyone can post in this thread a link to the thread where the interest was posted.

The only restriction is: people are forbidden from advertising leagues in this thread. If your league looks like a league that someone looking for a league would be interested in, post in the thread that person started or contact them some other way. League ads in this thread will be deleted without hesitation. This thread is to notify people of others possibly interested in joining their leagues; spamming it with ads of other leagues will just make people less likely to subscribe to it.

Therefore, if you (as the person looking for a league) think your post might warrant some discussion or you'd like others to have the opportunity to reply to it in a thread, start a separate thread with your post and just link to it from this thread.

To further increase the usability of the thread, if there is a separate thread for the interest, I'd recommend not just linking to it from this thread, but also quoting the initial post. That way, people reading their email notifications won't have to click through to determine whether their league fits, the post will be in their email.

Looking for Historical League

Looking for a historical league starting somewhere around the mid to late 70's or starting in the 80's and 90's.

I'm very interested in a league that is using a complete re-draft. I would love to build a team from scratch from the beginning and control them for a long time. I am not concerned with whether its a historical league or a league with current players.

I know its a lot of work and I was in one a while ago (ACBL) in which we actually drafted about 40 rounds and it was a blast, but then we hit a snag at the end of year 1 where the commish lost his computer and the league folded. I'm a very active GM that is one AIM quite a bit.

I have been a member of the OOTP Community going back to version 4. I have been involved in numerous leagues and even acted as the Commish for the Westwood Baseball League several years back. I am currently involved in only the CTBL and am looking for a second league to focus a large portion of my time.

My ideal league would be a league that is just beginning and is planning on using either 2007, or ideally 2008 rosters (Open to using fictional team names and what not, if real players are used). I am looking for a league that may or may not be re-drafting and a league that allows and encourages its GM's to be active with articles or other creative means. I look forward to hopefully hearing from some of you.

Thanks.

Virtual Baseball League 4 Homepage

Check out the Springfield franchise. It is our only opening currently. I also posted about the league on the main board. Check us out... it's a great league!

i'm looking to join a league. i'm running the free OOTP 5. I've played roto for quite a few years and have previously played in some mogul leagues. I'm a good manager and try to stay as active as humanly possible. If anyone has a spot let me know here or via email - HappyBuddaH@aol.com

I'm looking to get back into a 6.5 league. Been away from OOTP leagues for a while but I've ran and been in many successful leagues over the years. Been an avid OOTP-a-holic since OOTP2.

If you've got a spot for me, drop me an email at theschmaranz@hotmail.com
or send me a message via AIM (handle is TheSchmaranz)

Longtime OOTP player (dating back to the original OOTP), looking to get back into a 6.5 league.

Here is what I'm looking for:

League that uses 6.5 with 1-10 rating system.

Imports/exports of league data/files. (Should go without saying, but there are leagues out their that still do things the old fashioned way).

No activity points, etc. for writing articles, trading, whatever. While I'm all for activity and adding content to the league, the league should be about managing your team and not who can boost their players or finances because they make more trades or write an article about their team.

Original franchises. I want a league that still has the original, authentic, MLB franchise locations, mascots, and logos. If it's a historical league, that's fine. But I don't want to be facing the Sheboygan 69'ers.

A league with no more than 2-3 sims per week, and nothing more than a 10-14-day sim at a time. The shorter the sims, the more control I can have on my team, which is a good thing.

All of these items are deal breakers for me. I'm specific in what I'm looking for, because that's just how I want to play the game. If your league meets these settings, please email me at edreco at yahoo dot com with a link to your league and a list of teams that are available.

If I have to go on a waiting list, that is fine. I will join one league and one league only, because that is how I play. I devote my time and energy to one league and that's it.

I could stand to be in another 6.5 league. I prefer fictional-historical (or fictional-future) and a fairly aggresive sim schedule (at least 4 days a week; doesn't have to sim a lot of days at a time, just often). I would also prefer a 1-10 ratings/talent scale.

If anyone has a league like the above with an opening, please either PM here or email me.

Thanks!

more than 1/2 a year has gone by, and I'm still looking. The recent MLB trade deadline got the juices flowing. Email me (find the address above) if you have an opening or a waiting list.

I am looking to join a league that is just starting, in the current year, and with accurate ratings. I would love to be in a league with a fantasy draft, and I know that is nearly impossible to get, but that is much preferred. I have been playing OOTP for a few years now, and I really enjoy it. I do not offer ridiculous trades either, as I have seen many GMs do before and it is very annoying. I am a very fair and honest GM and will do my best to make my team succeed.
