Semi-historical deadball league is converting and expanding

Tired of all those same old modern leagues? Looking for a unique challenge in a creative environment?

The year is 1870. The Trans-Continental Baseball Association, the first professional baseball league in history, just finished its inaugural season, and now we plan to convert to v9 and add a new eastern major league.

You can view the league report here - BNN Home Page

TCBA was founded by the owners of the Union and Central Pacific Railroads as a way to promote their new transcontinental railroad. The league's first season was a major success, and now they are teaming with the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to form a major eastern league, getting the jump on what would have been the National Association. From here on out, the major historical players from each year will be available in the amateur draft, alongside the generated fictional players who form the majority of the league. The league is mostly meant as a fictional, alternate-universe twist on the history of baseball and the country.

Also unique from the old major leagues is free agency (eligibility after 8 seasons) and an amateur draft, giving it a more modern feel and active offseason.

There are no requirements on participation, just that you don't neglect your team, participate in league votes, make timely draft picks, etc. There are no writing requirements, though I plan to introduce a reward system where writing articles increases your fan interest. Sims are three days a week (Mon night, Wed night, Sat morning) and I have a forum on the league's server.

Update: we have four owners so far, and are looking for at least 8 before we can expand.

Sorry, I should have specified that it will be a new league within the universe, that will have its own initial draft. Every team will have a chance to be competitive.

Openings

I would love to get in if you will have me.

I am new to OOTP (had it a few years ago but got wrapped up in Strat) and would like to get into a league like this.

Any midwestern city would be great

KC
Chicago
or really anywhere.

There has been a lot of response and we're almost filled up.

I really would like to find an owner for Oakland, as we need another team in the west.

Left in the east is Buffalo, Cleveland and Louisville. We have an odd number of owners in the east so we'll either need one or three more there.

I am interested. I live in Brooklyn so it would be great if I can have Brooklyn. If taken, DC is fine, so will Cincy or Cleve, or any others.

Great, we now have an even number of owners. We're not going to start quite yet, so if anyone else wants any eastern teams - Buffalo, Cleveland, Louisville, or Albany - let me know. I'd still like to fill two or four of those if we can.

If I was the one who got Brooklyn, as close as my heart is to Brooklyn, I'd give it up to someone who fer cryin' out loud actually lives there . . . but, I don't want Oakland (can't say why, exactly) . . . would take Buffalo.

Buffalo and Cleveland have been taken. We're moving ahead this weekend, so if two other people want Louisville and Albany, we can get you in this week. Otherwise, we'll seek out expansion owners next season.

I'm interested in taking a team...either one really.

I'm brand new to OOTP, so I may need some help here and there, but I have quite a bit of sim and baseball experience.
