Is there any interest in a historical league? I tried this once in the past and it didn't work out (I think I had owners who were not really into the history of MLB).
I'd like to start out in 1901 and run through history (expansion and everything as it happened). The difference being I guess we let players develop as they may. If there is interest, I'd be very interested in running the league with some devoted historical buffs.

Yes! I have been going back and forth on whether I should start such a league but if you start one, I definitely want to be involved. Would we just take over team rosters as they were back in 1901? Please let me know if you start this league as I would love to be a participant. Thanks! Dan |

Dan,
If we can get enough dedicated owners who truely want to play history again and know history, I'd start the league tomorrow. I've been running a league for about 11 years (started with mogul then to OOTP). We could just take it though history. I know I have 3-4 to start, you'd make 5.

I'd be interested possibly, but would like to know more about league setup. In particular, game settings and sim schedule.

I am totally open to league settings and I'd be willing to rely on others advice. I sort of like the idea of using scouts and coaches, but I'm not 100% sold either.

Maybe something like Pioneers of the Game or Baseball's Humble Beginnings.
I think to start the league, we should start with the original rosters of the 16 teams (1901). Maybe hold a lottery for selecting teams or just have owners in order that they responded to the league select in that order for the teams they want. My two favorite players all time are Christy Mathewson and Cal Ripken, Jr. so I would take the bad NY Giants just to get Mathewson ![]() Dan |

www.pioneerbaseballassociation.com I liked the Pioneer and there was a real league called "league", so I went with Associaton. Please email me for teams. A couple have been taken already.

I'd be interested in the league. I might need my hand held getting used to the online portion for a bit since I haven't been in an online league since version 6 but other than that I'm totally in.

Teams are going really fast. I didn't realize so many guys would be into this. I want to keep this an "old man" league. So I'm not going to accept a guy under 30 unless he shows great knowledge in history or he can talk me into it.
