Major League IV (mlbiv) League Openings
Major League IV (mlbiv) is about to start the Free Agency going into its 3rd season (1982) and currently has the following openings
1. Atlanta Braves - (132-192 .407) (80' - 81') The braves for the better part have been with out leadership for sometime and have finished last in the Western Division. The Braves are lead by a young 3B Bob Horner who smashes the ball. The Braves have some up and coming arms and are a very young team in need of of direction. Only 4 players over 30 in the orginization. 2. Baltimore Orioles - (121-203 .373) (80' - 81') The Orioles are another team that just needs a little attention to be paid to them to get them going in the right direction. Lead by 1B Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken Jr. The O's are also a very young team needing an experienced GM to lead the way. 3. California Angels - (152-172 .469) (80' - 81') Are lead by SP David Palmer, 2B Bobby Grich and LF Don Baylor. The Angels are another young team that had the 4th best bullpen. Finished 4th in the Western Division could be on the verge of a playoff run with an experienced GM. 4. Chicago Cubs - (123-201 .380) (80' - 81'). Met fans will not be happy to find Dwight Gooden (3rd overall pick 81') in this rotation. This team is in some serious need of a die hard cubs fan that bleeds red and blue.... 5. Milwaukee Brewers - (187-137 .577) (80' - 81'). Milwakee is ranked 3rd in the Historical Standings. The crew is lead by SP Bill Gullickson who is a 2 time all star and the 1980 Cy Young Winner. The Brewers have missed the playoffs the last 2 seasons. Are you the leader to take Cecil Cooper, Robin Yount and Bill Gullickson to the dance? 6. St. Louis Cardinals - (187-137 .577) (80' - 81'). The Cardinals are tied with the Brewers as the 3rd best team in Major League IV. The Redbirds have a solid rotation and should be in the thick of the race again in 82. mlbiv is a historical league that started in 1980 (currently going into the offseason to start the 82 season) We feature a draft pool that is feed by real rookies, college and highschool. 4 Minor League Levels and a Winter League during the offseason. We sim a week of the season 3 times a week. If your interested in joinng please email me at commissioner@mlbiv.com our post on our waiting list forum. I run the Giants, and gotta say this is one of my favorite leagues I've been in. The comish's know what they are doing and the core group of owners are in it for the long haul, so you can develop great relationships/strategies with different guys.

This is a great league to join . It is very easy to turn a franchise around in a season or two . Last season two teams made the playoffs who lost close to 100 games the season before !!
A very good group of guys who make this league fun and challanging . Mitch |

Major League IV still in need of active owners,
League is considering a move to OOTP9 at the end of the 82 season Still Open 1. Atlanta Braves 2. Baltimore Orioles 3. California Angels 4. Milwaukee Brewers 5. New York Mets 6. St. Louis Cardinals 7. Chicago Cubs A dedicated front office that has been together for almost 10 years makes this a long running league that you wont have to worry about going anywhere in the near future. |

I would like too....
hello, long time lurker, recently signed up. Would love to join your league. Love the game, starting to get bored playing solo. Couple questions, is there a msg board? What is your turnover rate for owners? I am a diehard Phillies fan but would be willing to settle for the Braves, they look like a real challenge and while i dont think i could have them win it all this year or next but I think I could rebuild them successfully to win within 2-3 seasons. I like teh 3x a week sim, how is communication done throughout the league? Msg Board, email, AIM? my email is bdawg040404@hotmail.com. I have aim just not installed but will install it if that is crucial. Also while i want to take over the braves id be willing to take any team. And last thing is if going to rebuild, how do other owners feel about that? wouldnt want someone to get mad if I want to trade a couple key players for prospects to retool. May sound dumb but its an honest question. Thank You

What is your turnover rate for owners? It has been very low until this offseason had a few guys that said they just didnt have time and had a few that didnt check in at roll call for the 82 seasons which is the reason for all the current openings. We would rather have active owners than just allow guys to stay and not export on a regular bases. We have 3 Owners that have been together since 1999 when the league was originally created. I am a diehard Phillies fan but would be willing to settle for the Braves, they look like a real challenge and while i dont think i could have them win it all this year or next but I think I could rebuild them successfully to win within 2-3 seasons. Ah saddly Mr. Cobb beat you to the braves by a day and I just hadnt been on to be able to get it updated. I like teh 3x a week sim, how is communication done throughout the league? Msg Board, email, AIM? my email is bdawg040404@hotmail.com. I have aim just not installed but will install it if that is crucial. Most of the communication is done on the boards. While I perfer AIM as its a good tool to talk trades and stuff. The league doest its majority of its communications via the boards. Also while i want to take over the braves id be willing to take any team. And last thing is if going to rebuild, how do other owners feel about that? wouldnt want someone to get mad if I want to trade a couple key players for prospects to retool. Some of these teams sadly, will be the only opition in rebuilding. We (the front office) understand this and allow owners to do what the feel they need to. Now if it seems really lopsided we will take a look at it like any other league. May sound dumb but its an honest question. Thank You Hope that helps and look forward to having you in the league. Updated Openings :
Milwaukee Brewers - They are the best team in the league and have the 2nd best farm system . This team is loaded in the major leagues and minor leagues . They are lead by : Cecil Cooper , Robin Yount , Al Bumbry , Joe Carter , Bobby Bonilla and the best pitching staff in the league . Baltimore - They are a team that needs a very active G.M . They still have Eddie Murray and Cal Ripken but need work . They have some good young guys in the minors . Minnesota Twins - They are a team who can still make the playoffs . They have a good core of young hitters in : Kent Hrbek , Roy Smalley and Gary Gaetti . With alittle work this could be a playoff team . We are at the all star break right now so its a very good time to join . Still time to make a trade or two before the deadline . Mitch |
