Semi-historical deadball league has immediate openings

The Transcontinental Baseball Association was formed in 1870 as the world's first fully professional baseball league. Initially limited to eight teams along the original transcontinental railroad, the league expanded cross-country prior to the 1871 season, boasting 26 teams.

As we begin the 1872 season, we have an opening with the Philadelphia Red Stockings.

The league is mostly fictional, with top historical amateurs added into the free agent class each offseason. This season's class was highlighted by Cap Anson and also featured Al Spalding, Cherokee Fisher, Ross Barnes, and Cal McVey, among others.

You must enjoy playing in a 19th-century environment. That means lots of singles, doubles, triples, stolen bases, and errors; and very few homeruns, walks, or strikeouts. 19th-century baseball is far from boring! Teams are averaging 8.88 runs per game this season, and the league's slugging percentage is nearly .400. Games are wild, high-scoring and unpredictable.
