Long running league has openings - Draft this Thurs!
NOBL (National Online Baseball League) - NOBL Website!)
We have been running for 20 seasons (way back to v4) and are entering our third season on OOTP 2007. We started as a purely fictional league with real team names in 2001 and have made it to 2021 which we have just started. What started as a 20 team league is now 24 teams strong. We have 3 openings this season which I will detail below however If I had to sell someone on NOBL I would emphasize the following 1) Consistency - there are 12 GM's that have been in the league at least 10 seasons and 9 that have 15 seasons or more (heck 5 of us go back to 2002). We aren't going to break up our community and just dissapear like some leagues. I have been the commish since 2003 and since this was my first league (as it was a lot of us in NOBL) it really means something 2) Parity - Everyone has a chance at a winning team. There are always reasonable FA's, teams looking to trade, and there have been a lot of different teams at the top (including an expansion team). We have an 85m cap and its opened up the league tremendously in the 12 plus years we have had it email commish@nobl.net or noblcommish@gmail.com or IM me at Officespace99 Openings Braves (2006 NOBL Champion, 2006-2009 NL Champion) 2020 - 65-97 (4th) Farm: 1st Outlook: In a division with 1 teams that just lost the NOBL Championship, 1 team that was the NL wild card, and another that was in the wild card to the last sim, Atlanta will need to make some moves to take their talented group of kids and make it a 4 team race. Atlanta has a good young core and with a few moves could vault into playoff contention Cardinals 2020 - 79-83 (3rd) Farm: 13th Outlook: Talent wise has enough to compete in arguably our weakest division. Stl has a really nice staff headed up by 28 year old 21 game winner Kieth Co and 3 hitters but not much else KC (2007 & 2015 NOBL Champ) 2020 - 57-105 (4th) Farm: 11th Outlook: Time to rebuild! Has 2-3 really good young parts but mismanagement has led to this once proud franchise in need of a major overhaul. This team will be a challenge but has the #1 pick in a GREAT draft class.

Are you one of those guys that keep joining leagues that fail? Well ... this isn't one of those leagues. The NOBL has been around as an OOTP league since 2002 and is about to enter it's 21st season. Over the years we've had twelve different teams win the World Series and only two teams have ever won back-to-back titles. So we've got staying power and we've got parity.
Our rules are fairly simple and straightforward. We don't have participation points and nobody is going to nag you about writing articles (although we'd be happy if you do). We don't have things like compensatory draft picks, franchise players, restricted free agents, or non-OOTP supported features. The commissioner isn't going to throw dice to determine the outcome of anything. We like to keep our rules simple and focus on baseball. Our ownership group is probably older than in most other leagues. Our youngest owners are still in college and our oldest guys are fiftysomethings. Most of us are very experienced OOTP players, but we're not rabid sharks. This is a good league for experienced players or newbees. <!-- / message --> |
