Best post in a On Line league

A lot of us like to write about our on-line baseball teams. Some of these posts are highly creative. For example in the ORB a hisorical on-line league we have had a running Don Mossi gag... for those that don't know of Mossi look up some photos. Anyway this was picture from one of the news articles the Washington Senators owner wrote:

Attention Senator Fans!!!
On July 22nd during the game against the California Angels it will be Don Mossi Bobblehead day. The first 500 hundred fans that come to RFK stadium will recieve an authentic Don Mossi bobblehead doll.

I'm sure many others have some great articles that get posted so I thought I'd start a thread to share them.

Great idea for a post! News articles are the lifeblood of the PEBA. Our owners really enjoy writing about the league, and I take notes as we progress so that I can highlight some of the best articles at the end of each season. A couple months in, here are some PEBA articles of particular note in a few different genres:
  • Humor: Cooley: A Tragedy in Three Acts. Manchester Scouting Director Morris Cooley acts as the classic Greek tragic hero in this epic tale of a man who sacrificed his reputation for the good of his team.
  • Drama: The Diary of Jerry Leahy. This 24-year-old pitcher from Dawson Creek is entering his third season at AAA with newfound hope thanks to new ownership in Charleston.
  • Trade Analysis: Winter Meetings Roundup. (Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3) The PEBA holds its Winter Meetings live in our chat room. It's an absolute blast; there's always a flurry of chatting and trades going on. This last year a total of 16 trades were consummated in a 3 hour period, and Canton GM Brad Dobney gives us his take on each and every one (along with grades for all the involved parties).
  • Introductory Article: Featherheads YouTube - Are You Ready? Prospective new PEBA owners are asked to submit a brief introductory article to give us an idea of their writing style. New Florida Featherheads GM Kevin Lewis went the extra mile with his, establishing fictitious owner and cruise ship mogul Drew Streets as one of the league's more colorful characters.
  • Minors: Mon Dieu! Balloonists in 22. With a -14° wind chill, 48 KPH wind gusts and competition from the nearby NHL Ottawa Senators, the AA Calgary Stampede and Gatineau Balloonists played well into the night in a classic Great Northern League match-up. Hats off to the 137 fans still in attendance when the final run scored!
I'd be really interested in seeing representatives from some of the other leagues post a few of their articles here. I know there's a lot of great writing going on out there. For example, the GUBA is a writing-heavy league that was in some ways inspirational for the PEBA during our setup. I'm sure they have some great stories to share with us!

Since I'm posting here, I'd like to selfishly mention that the PEBA is currently looking for a new owner for the Arlington Bureaucrats franchise. If you like what you're reading here and think this is the kind of thing you'd want to be a part of, contact me and I'll promptly send you info on what we're all about. We'd love to hear from you!
