USPA - OOTP 9 Players League

The United States Players Alliance is now open! The USPA is a OOTP 9 players league. You do not need to own the game to be in this league, unless you wish to apply for a GM position.

Basically, you create 2 players - 1 batter and 1 pitcher. You supply me with the basic information for the player (name, height, weight, position, etc.) and I randomly create the player for you.

The fun part of being in a players league is the fact that you get to role play the player any way you see fit. You can also upgrade your player through attending live sims, creating a player website, writing articles, etc. If you browse the league forum, you'll see the various ways that you can improve your player. The more active you are, the better your player will be!

For those of you that are not familiar with me, I am a very experienced commissioner. I am the founder of a OOTP 6.5 players league that was created in May of 2005 and is still going strong to this date. OOTP 9 has some amazing features that will allow me to be more creative with running the league, and I hope to see this league around for a very, very long time.

If you have any questions about player leagues in general or the USPA, please do not hesitate in asking me. I have been participating solely in these leagues since about 2003. You can register on the USPA forum and send me a PM, send me a PM here, e-mail me at matrey7@ptd.net, or catch me on AIM at whippasnappa89 or matrey257.

Thanks for your time!

-Stephen Thiele

Hey everyone. name is Brian, co-founder of the USPA.

Just wanted to invite everyone to come on by and join up. We are looking for as many people as possible to join. Steve said most everything you really need to know about the league, I just thought I would toss my .02 in.

This kind of league is a fun way for handlers to take some ownership in a player or two and watch them and help them develop. What really makes this kind of league fun is all the different personalities that tend the join up and the personas that they give their players. Make a player modeled after yourself or conjure one up and choose a different persona. The more characters and personas we have in the league the more enjoyable it is for everyone.

Obviously, in this kind of league the more active a handler is the better they can make there player, but I am not here to ask any of you to be super active. If you want a stud, be active, but otherwise you don't have to show up everyday, once a week is more than fine and whenever you have time and feel like doing a little more in the way of an article or something, feel free to.

If you want to take a look at the site click on any of the links in Steve's post or the ones I will provide below and no matter what your decision, I thank all of you who take the time to look and it would be appreciated if you think you know someone that may be interested in our league, please point them in our direction.

Thanks,

Just wanted to add a note for those that have contacted me about a GM position. We will begin with 8 teams, thus needing 8 GMs. If you are interested in a GM position, please register on the forums and post a thread in the 'Applications' section. You must own a working copy of OOTP 9 to be considered.

Being a GM in a players league is a lot more fun than being a GM in a regular, MLB league. The constant interaction that you will have with the players on your team is amazing. Sure, there will be some differences in personality, etc., but that is part of the fun. You get to take on the role of a real life GM. You negotiate contracts with your players, set your rotation/lineup, trade with other GMs, etc. It really is a blast and I can guarantee you that you'll never want to participate in a regular 30 team MLB league again!

Join now and help us recruit. For every new member you recruit, you'll get 2 points to upgrade your player(s) with. Should be a damn fun league. If you're not interested in joining as a GM (maybe because you don't have a lot of free time on your hands), you could always join and create two players - and spend as much (or as little) time as you want making them better.

Had a really nice day of recruitment yesterday after only being open for a couple to few days. We are now up to 34 players.

Stop on by, take a look. It is a fun kind of league and you get to know people from all over the place.

Look forward to seeing some of you around and getting to know you.

56 players now.

Been having a decent response for being open for such a short time. We are still looking for quite a bit more tho to get this league rolling. Players leagues never stop recruiting and never turn members away. The more the better and the stronger the league.

Stop by, give us a look! United States Players Alliance

78 players now. Not bad for only being open for about 5-days, but we still need more players, so come on by, create some players and give us a try.

We look forward to seeing you around!

Hey everybody, we are now up to 90 players!

For anyone who visited the site yesterday and noticed it was down, I apologize for the inconvenience, our forum database got corrupted and we lost all of our information. But, we have a new up with a nice new look and we along with some anxious members are looking for some more players so we can get to our inaugural draft.

Remember, you only have to be as active as you want to be, so come on by and join up!

102 players now. The leagues inaugural draft will begin when we have a minimum of 200 players, which would place 25- players on each of the 8-teams the league is starting with. I would personally like to have 240-players so each team would have the option or placing those players not ready to play in the minors, but 200 gets us to the draft.

If you have looked at us and are thinking about creating a couple players, please come on back and give us another look, activity is starting to pick up in anticipation of getting started.

If you haven't checked us out, please do, remember, you only have to be as active as you want to be. Even if you are not sure how active you want to be, come on by, create a couple of players and you can come back anytime you want if you get the time or your interest changes and you will have players waiting for you and you can get right into the league.

I want to thank everyone who has joined up to this point and all those who have come by and given or league consideration.

WE ARE ALSO STILL TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR GENERAL MANAGER SPOTS! SO IF YOU HAVE INTERSEST IN BEING A GM OF A TEAM WITH ACTIVE/HUMAN PLAYERS COME ON BY AND APPLY!

112 players so far...recruiting is starting to slow up, but that is expected. The last 100 or so players are always the hardest to get.

Believe me, player leagues are the most enjoyable leagues out there. There is always discussion on the forum and you'll have constant interaction with real people from all over the world.

We are still taking GM applications, too...have 8 applications I believe so far, but would like another 2 or 3.

Join up, people! League is looking good so far; people are writing articles, having discussions, etc. Join, make your two players, apply for a GM spot, make a player agency - just join!

We now have 121 players. Activity has been great on the forums between articles, trivia, etc. However, we still need a lot of players, so if you're interested, check out the website and forum and get a feel for the league. If you have any questions, please contact me and I'd be glad to help you out.

We have selected 4 of our GMs and we plan on hiring the last 4 within the next week or so. If you are interested in a GM position, please register on the forum and fill out an application.

Thumbs up

The time you will put into creating two players is well worth the effort. This is going to be a solid league and a lot of fun! Come on and join!

All 8 GM positions have been filled and we have hired the Players Union Representative. However, we are always accepting GM applications and some teams are willing to hire Assistant GMs.

We have close to 150 players...inching closer to our goal of at least 200. All members that join before the Inaugural Draft will be allowed to create 3 players.

Forum activity is at a high and I am hoping to get the league started within the next couple of weeks.

161 players now! We are getting ever closer to our mark of 200-players to start the draft. We have named our 8-inaugural GM's and they have chosen their cities and team nick names so it is just a matter now of getting the rest of the players.

If you have the time, please stop by and check us out and hopefully you will have some interest and decide to make a few players.

One of our GMs decided that he did not have enough time to commit himself to the league. If you are interested in being the final GM, please register on the forums, create players, and fill out an Application. You must own the most updated version of OOTP 9.

As a new GM, you will have the freedom to select your own team location, name, and logo. You will also be able to select any current MLB stadium as the stadium for your team.

We encourage those new to OOTP 9 to apply for a GM position. I have no problem helping you out along the way.
