The RLPA (Replacement Level Players Association) started in early 2004. We're coming up on our 25th season. In addition, we spawned a spinoff league back in 2006 - the Historical Baseball League - that has simmed another 11 seasons.

While true, I think what probably tells the real story of the RLPA is that the current forum (again, remembering the first one was destroyed in a fire) has 218,101 posts, including 18,388 in the Completed Trades forum alone.

Not Chris, though, not yet and not any time soon I don't think.

I don't really see it as hard work, I see it as a hobby, and perhaps that's why it's been so much fun. Perhaps it's similar for chrisj.
What L_L_N said is true - it's a lot more fun as time passes and you have the history. I still look back at the league greats like Don Session, Patrick Mather, Pete Trump, etc and think "these players these days don't live up to the guys of old!".

I don't see getting burned out - if anything ever does me in, it will be work. When I started the league in 2002 I was in university and had all the time in the world to run it. Not so much anymore.

Just because this thread keeps living, an update on eMLB:

We're entering our 19th season, and our last one before upgrading to OOTPX.

eMLB was founded on July 19, 2000....yes, we're turning 9 years old in a couple weeks! And I still have 7 of my original GMs!

I still love doing it to this day. My waiting list is 18 deep...so big I decided, with unanimous support to allow the Nippon League in my file to occupy 12 new owners.

We've also begun being followed on Twitter. Examples of people to follow are here.

eMLB is a member of Total Sports World.
