New Fictional Player League Opens!

# of Teams: 28 in 3 leagues
Sim Days: TUE, FRI 7pm MDT
League Time Per Sim: 15 days
First Season: 2009

IPBL consists of 3 real independent baseball leagues: American Association of Professional Baseball, Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and the Golden Baseball League. Baseball from across the country, east coast, midwest and west coast as well as Canada and Mexico is represented. Each league operates independent from each other BUT players can sign and play for any team in any league. Each league uses the split season format and each league crowns its own champion.

Real team names, league alignment and stadium name/capacities are used in this league.

We currently have just 8 teams left to fill out of the 28. The website has a block that identifies which teams are still available. We will be holding a short 5 round initial draft (currently being voted on but results so far favor this) to start building the teams.

agree to the previous comment. Have him as commish in a real league. Just wish this one was a promotion / regletion league and I would be all in.

The IPBL is about to start its initial draft tomorrow night using the in-game draft list functionality. This is a chance for the owners to build a team in their image using strategy they believe will turn out a winner.

We have just 4 teams available if you would like to join this strong an enthusiastic ownership group. The teams that are available are all in the Golden Baseball League (one of the 3 leagues that IPBL consists of). They are:

Long Beach Armada

St. George (Utah) RoadRunners

Yuma Scorpions

IPBL is finishing up the 2009 season (it's first) tonight and entering the post season. We have 4 open teams available:

# Edmonton
# Lincoln
# St. Paul
# Tucson

If we can regularly maintain the 28 owners we need for the three leagues we currently have, I would entertain adding another independent league. As of now, the league has 28 teams. This league was created after Hardball Heroes (and it's 84 teams) folded so I want to be careful not to make the league too large.

No salary cap in IPBL.

IPBL just completed its first season (2009) and crowned its 3 league champions. We are now entering the offseason and after the roll call, we have the following teams available for new owners:

American Association of Professional Baseball
* St. Paul Saints (85-77) - 2009 playoff team
* Pensacola Pelicans (75-87)
* Lincoln Saltdogs (86-76)

Atlantic League of Professional Baseball
* Somerset Patriots (81-81) - 2009 playoff team
* Long Island Ducks (93-69) - AL Champions

Golden Baseball League
* Edmonton Capitals (57-105)
* Tucson Toros (88-74) - GBL Champions
* Yuma Scorpions (76-86)

As you can see, there is a wide range of teams from teams that are champions to teams that need some work to make competitive and those in between.

This is a fictional player league and the biggest reason for the turnover is owners not having the patience to get familiar with their fictional players. But my experience with fictional leagues is once you do get familiar, they become just as real as players in real player leagues. So, you will need to be patient to allow yourself to learn who the stars are in each league and what players can make your team a contender. The league sims 30 days per real week so we do go quickly so rebuilding teams can see their efforts much sooner than conventional leagues.
