The most unique 19th century league needs an owner

The Trans-Continental Base Ball Association was the world's first professional league, founded in 1870 along the eight largest cities on the transcontinental railroad. In 1871 the league expanded nationwide, drawing some of the National Association's top talent. Now nearing the end of the 1875 season, TCBA is the nation's preeminent baseball league.

The defending Central Pacific League champion Denver Pikes are in need of a new owner.

This is not just your typical 19th century league. We have many unique features, including:
  • Fictional-historical hybrid, with fictional amateurs in the draft pool and historical rookies in the free agent pool
  • Free agency with 8 years service time
  • Extensive minor leagues with opportunities to affiliate with multiple teams at each level
  • Independent leagues/teams from which players can be purchased
  • Modified settings which will begin the liveball era in the 1880s
  • Fast sims (three weeks at a time) covering an entire year in one month
  • Historically accurate markets based on census data
and more!

If you're interested, please respond to this thread or send me a PM.

TCBA league rules.

Page with links to league reports, utilities, etc.

League forum, with posted Owners list, Financials Guide, etc.

Sims are run Tue-Thu-Sat at 8am US Pacific time. Exports are accepted up until sim time.

If you want a taste of 19th century base ball, this is the place. I've been an owner for six months, and the league is fun. The Commish is smart, and he's dedicated.

Satchel

The rules say that the sims occur at a different time...

2. Simulations will be conducted on Mondays and Wednesdays no earlier than 9pm PT, and on Saturdays no earlier than 9am PT

If this is correct I would love to apply. If not I would find it difficult (I travel on business and would not be able to export).

Thanks for your help

I apologize for the inconsistency, but it's not uncommon for a league's rules to be out-of-date on a point like this. I can say from experience that the league, since I've joined, has run sims on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday mornings.

After a sim runs, an owner can send in an export at any point, before the next sim. So, once a TCBA sim runs, you have either 48 hours (between the Tuesday and Thursday sims; and between the Thursday and Saturday sims) or 72 hours (between the Sunday and Tuesday sims) to send in your team. There's no "sweet spot" in which an export must be sent in.

Any more questions you have, please feel free to ask.

That's what I was afraid of...

I am on the road Tuesday morning (not a problem) through Thursday evening (problem)

Thanks again for the help.

Check out the customized reports. This league has a strong heartbeat. Yet it's only for those who will dig the 19-century game.
