NML crowns 1923 Heartland Champion

The Northern Midwest Leagues Heartland Champsionship winner for 1923 season are the Escanaba Miners. The Miners repeat as champions by defeating the Des Moines Bison 4 games to 2 in the league series. The Miners took advantage of the Bisons only obvious weakness by using left hand pitchers in 4 of the 6 games, getting wins in 3.

The NML was very competitive this season with the playoffs going the distance in most cases. The Miners defeated Grand Rapids in the first round and bested the arch rival Green Bay Muskies in the Eastern league finals.
