UEBA getting closer to launch
I'm still working out some basics, and am willing to listen to ideas about best practice, but the UEBA (Union of European Baseball Associations) is close to being ready for its first season.
The UEBA will initially consist of four separate leagues (in the founding nations of Britain, France, Germany and Spain) and the majors play a 120 game season with an end of season playoffs in each association to determine the 4 teams that will take place in the European Championships at the end of each season. The current state of the rules as determined so far are available at UEBA Baseball The forum where people can start discussing or join the waiting list is at UEBA • Index page There is an initial need for 32 GMs (8 per association) There will be 3 sims a week (7 days per sim during the regular season) on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at around 8pm UTC My hope is that the first season will be starting before the end of July.

Even though I haven't got round to doing my decoding on the dats for things like customised playoffs (which wouldn't work in this league anyway with multiple leagues playing together at the end) thankfully Markus hasn't messed around with legacy settings - when I did my test run I found that FAs filed before the end of the European Championships... but a quick visit to hex editor and the date of that event can be easily pushed back! You don't want your top players declaring free agency halfway through the final round of games (though would be an interesting test for GMs!)

In order to stop spambots and the stuff getting through the registration for the forums it's on admin approval and my sleep times here in England tend to match up with peak times Stateside so don't be alarmed if you register and aren't approved till 8 hours or so later!

Getting a fair amount of interest and people wanting to take teams in all the countries so far.
One difference that this league is going to have at the very start is how the teams will stock talent. Each team is given a grant at the start of their tenure and this is used to market the team to their chosen area and any left over is used to bid for the players - with players going to the team bidding the highest. This gets round the issue with four leagues have four separate inaugural drafts and adds a bit of strategy to the initial filling. A salary cap will be in place but if you want mega loyal fans who are interested in nothing else and a large captive area you're going to have to deal with $40m or so less money to spend on your players (but pick right and your revenue over time should more than even that out!) More details on the links to UEBA below.

This is a further call for any interested GMs
We have 6 out of 8 positions filled in the British League, 2 out of 8 filled in France, 3 out of 8 filled in Germany and 4 out of 8 filled in Spain. Follow the links in signature to find out more and sign up if it interests you.

We're left needing 1 British team, 4 German Teams, 3 French Teams and 2 Spanish teams to start the league.
Every team gets $125,000,000 to start their team and can spend up to $75,000,000 running a marketing campaign to increase their market and fanbase. Any remaining money goes towards the bidding for their active roster - there is no inaugural draft for the major leaguers - each player will go to the highest bidder (setting their contract for at least 2 years!)... A salary cap is in force so you can't just go blithely giving out massive contracts.

Thanks Tony - how many sims will you be doing per week? And how many days per sim? I didn't see this on the forum (although I possibly missed it).

Hopefully soon. It would be good to have all 32 spaces filled but if all the associations get to 7 out of 8 I'd potentially put an AI team in to fill the gap till new members join.

After some debate on whether or not I wanted to get back into the online league, I decided to give it a shot. Spidermonkey from the league had asked me to check out the league and I am doing so.
However, I am not really sure where I am supposed to go to join? |
