Can you play games manually instead of sim in online league?
Hi!
I'm brand new to the game. Me and a buddy have started a league. I have setup the ftp so that we can share files. However, we have found a problem for us. We each want to play our games and sim the remaining teams games. Our hopes are that he could send me his team file for me to incorporate into our league. But we have not found a way to do this yet. Does anyone have any ideas? We used to play Diamond Mind and it allowed us to do this. It would be a letdown if we could only GM. Thanks in advance, Moe |

Thanks for the response. We were afraid of this. So to play against other people in an online league you are basically a glorified GM and not an actual manager. I know that there are lots of settings for tendencies and such. But there is nothing like having full control of a pitch by pitch game. So the only way to get the full use of the game is to play a league by yourself or spend lots of time trying to work out times to get together to play both teams schedules. This is a pretty big letdown. Thanks again for clearing this up for us. It saves me more hours of research.

Yes, well despite my efforts to push them to expand the online capabilities. I think its just slightly outside of the capabilities of the programming team right now. Which is fine. Hopefully enough OOTP13's sell that they can hire someone who can focus on online play!
That being said, a buddy and myself a few years ago used to trade league files back and forth. We would take turns playing a series at a time. So you'd manage a series, then the next one your AI takes over. With the use of 7-day line-ups, and tendencies, you get a pretty good control over everything. Also you can set it up so that you can watch the replays before seeing the ending when you get the file back. So you can "watch" the series unfold" but without control over the results. Worked for us until we moved on to a busier lifestyle. |
