PBDL - Unique Fictional League has an Opening
Full League Name (Initials): Premier Baseball Dynasty League (PBDL)
Main URL: Premier Baseball Dynasty League Reports URL: BNN Home Page Boards URL: Premier Baseball Dynasty League Forums Commissioner(s) OOTP Forum Username(s): greenrebellion Email Address: PBDLCommish@gmail.com OOTP Version: OOTP 13 Game Needed: Required Players: Fictional # of Teams: 24 Export Deadlines Days And Times: Sun, Tue, Thu 10 PM EST (Wednesday + Saturday morning sim added during offseason) League Time Per Sim: 7 days First Season: 2013 Current Season: 2020 Currently Available Teams: See last post Special Rules & Settings: See below or refer to league constitution HERE The Premier Baseball Dynasty League (PBDL) runs a promotion relegation system with 3 leagues: Gold League – 8 Teams Silver League – 8 Teams Bronze League – 8 Teams Fictional players, logos/jerseys based on NHL teams. Draft Lottery Regular Season – 84 games, play each team within your league 12 times (7x12=84) 4 of 8 teams make the playoffs. Both rounds are 9 game series. Either one or two teams get promoted from Bronze and Silver leagues every season. Promotion occurs for the team that finishes first overall during the regular season as well as for the team that wins the league championship. If the first place team wins the championship, then only one team is promoted from that league for that season. The bottom one or two teams (depending on how many are getting promoted from the league below) in Gold and Silver get relegated. Customized financial system that is driven purely off of a rolling five year point accumulation system that drives media revenue as the sole source of revenue. There are no ticket sales and there is no merchandising revenue. The better you perform over the rolling five years, the more revenue you will receive. As set up, it should provide a decent degree of financial parity while rewarding successful franchises. Please refer to the Constitution for a more detailed explanation of how finances will work. Other Settings: • Ratings: 1-20 • Potential Ratings scale: 1-20 • Other Ratings scale: 1-20 • Overall Ratings (stars) – Off • Coaches: ON • Scouting: OFF • Designated Hitter: Yes • Payroll Cap: None • Cash Cap: No Cap • Expanded Rosters: Yes • Minor League Free Agency: No • Personality Ratings: Yes • Morale Ratings: Yes • Suspensions: Yes • Drug Suspensions: No • Visiting Team’s Gate Share: N/A • Rule V Draft: Disabled • Waiver System: Enabled • Minors: AAA, AA, A **Please note these modifications from Default:** • Injury Frequency - Low (works better given short season) • Rotation size - Four versus default five • Pitcher stamina - Normal (rather than low in modern day MLB leagues) • Active Roster Size - 24 versus default 25 • Secondary Roster Size - 35 (non-material change as there's no Rule V Draft) • Number of arbitration eligible years - 2 years (default 3) • Minimum service years for free agency - 5 years (default 6) This league provides a very engaging experience. The playoff setup keeps the season interesting even if your team is struggling as it should only take a ~.500 record or so to make the playoffs. The season is short enough that a rebuilding team will be able to remain engaged. The draft is also orchestrated to reward teams that are doing everything they can to find that extra piece whether through free agency, on the waiver wire, or in their own minor league system that will get them a few extra wins (no more coasting to an easy rebuild but still friendly enough to allow weaker teams to improve). Finally, the financial setup along with no cash cap insures that all decisions count. Will you focus resources on player development, coaching, or the players on the field...how will you deal with the overpriced, aging vet who is hogging your precious cash resources?

Still have openings in Anaheim & Dallas.
Edit 9/17/12: Dallas filled, still need a GM for Anaheim.

I guess the Ducks are like the plague, no one will touch them!
They certainly will be a challenging franchise to run, but the rewards could be tremendous. As a bronze division team currently sitting in last place, there is a long way to go towards respectability...who's up for the challenge?

Just one opening left.
This league is specifically tailored and optimized for the online realm. Customizations such as the unique financial setup, draft lottery and shorter seasons (which allows GM’s to see the full career arc of their players in a reasonable period of time without sacrificing immersion or control of your roster that sometimes happens in fast sim leagues). New players welcome! Teams Currently Available: Despite lackadaisical ownership throughout the year, the New York Rangers were able to win the inaugural Gold Championship. Experts aren't even sure exactly how they pulled it off. The starting rotation ranked 8th in Gold and batting average was 7th. They did however hit a ton of home runs and have a phenomenal bullpen as well. Given the aforementioned flaws, repeating as champion could prove a mighty challenge. The good news is that the team's championship run and lack of extremely burdensome contracts provides a prospective GM with a healthy financial slate to augment the roster and prepare for another Gold title.

Thought we had filled the Rangers, but the applicant had to back out before officially getting set up in the league.
His loss is your gain! One spot available, see post #15 in this thread for details on the team available.

Calgary Flames are still looking for a GM. We are approaching the halfway point of the 2014 season.
The Flames just squeaked into the playoffs in 2013 as the fourth seed, but were eliminated 5-2 in the first round by the pitching juggernaut that is the Colorado Avalanche. The Flames lost some depth players in the off-season, but the large majority of the core returned. Thus far this season, the team is fighting to avoid relegation in 7th place with a 22-29 record. But their pyt. record of 26-25 tells a different story. With a low payroll and some good young prospects, a new GM will have plenty of flexibility to reshape the team and possibly compete for a playoff spot this season with the right lineup moves.
