League to avoid/Not worth the hassle BJBL

The league is now called BJBL.

1. There is a LOT of bickering and infighting in the league and the owner has done little to nothing to stop it. Personal attacks and everything. Either he's powerless because he feels some members of the league will revolt because of clique ism or he's just blind to it.

2. When new GMs join I always look to welcome them and make them feel comfortable in the league. Some other GMs just look to rip them off in trades or provoke fights with them. One other GM picked a fight with a new GM, in a trade thread no less and I called him out on it and said it wasn't fair.

3. Commish decided to suspend me for almost a week off the boards and threatened me with expulsion from the league if I came forward on the OOTP boards. Needless to say, I'm here to hopefully stop other GMs from making the same mistake.

He feels he can suspend me or do whatever to me because I don't engage in the cliques thing they do in there. I stay to myself, try to trade when I can and mostly try my best to be as quiet and friendly as possible.

I recommend that you guys see for yourselves the hypocrisy and tyranny going on. I will undoubtedly be fired for exposing this, but I do it for the benefit of the OOTP community at large.

As a GM from BJBL with no moderating powers or executive influence, let me state some facts:

1. There is ZERO "infighting" in BJBL.

2. A "fight" was not picked with a new GM. One GM replied to a trade block topic respectfully questioning the value the GM posting the topic was asking for in return for a star player. "YoungEx" replied to the poster with what most would call a "troll" post, unrelated to the topic matter with an attack.

3. The commish has been calm and respectful throughout it all and has previously warned the league for "trolling" on other GMs due to the fact that some GM's are ticked off by such activity. "YoungEx" routinely engages in this activity, unprovoked.

4. There are no "cliques" in BJBL.

5. Any commish would have fired "YoungEx" for his childish behaviour. Our commish has been patient.

BJBL is a historical league currently entering the 1990 season - truly unique! We are always looking for GM's!
Join our league here: TBBL

Hope to see you on the other side!

Seriously? I would just like to say I'm in the BJBL, All Leagues have similar issues...You’re either grown up enough to deal with it or you’re not. And I have a great respect for any commish who is willing to discipline people who get out of line on the forum. The creator of this thread was a large part of the issues he complains about. He got sent to Time out and he is now in the corner crying that nobody else got in trouble. It is what it is. Deal with it, move on or move out….looks like you took the latter option!

The creator of this thread (Myself) was punished for defending a new GM from being personally attacked by another not so new GM. As an original member of the league, and as a member of the league on which this one was based (5+ years running on TBBL, the board still says TBBL) I felt it was my duty to point out that I wanted to foster a friendly and welcoming environment, not one of of personally attacking people. The person responsible for the personal attack has personally attacked me for my physical disability in the past. I was diagnosed with Spina Bifida as a 5 year old and he's made fun of the fact that I am in a wheelchair, and the commish has taken no action to date on that issue but when I criticize him for his unwelcoming attitude to a new GM I get kicked off the site for 4 days. The unwelcoming GM responsible for personal attacks against me, and against this particular GM has the AIM name of thinkblue71.

thinkblue71

only because we let people in wheelchairs come to games

we have since cut that off

All leagues have what issues? People personally attacking each other based on uncontrollable characteristics such as race, religion, ethnicity, national origin, disability status ETC? People personally attacking new GMs on the message board? Is that supposed to make new GMs feel welcome? The commish can at least temper this with his authority, but instead he condones it by punishing the one single person speaking out against it.

YoungEX, If you think I’m going to let you drag me into a debate about a Private League Issue on the OOTP Board you’ve either lost your mind or think I’ve lost mine

Here are some FACTS

1), I AM the New GM you refer to and were supposedly defending. I do NOT need you to defend me, nor do I want you to. I wear Big Boy Pants now; I can do it on my own.

2) I wasn’t offended by the comment you tried to defend me from it was just normal discussion about my required compensation to trade a certain player.

3) Since I’ve been in that league you have gone out of your way to bicker and argue with a few specific GM’s and as a result derailing several threads and their intended purpose.

4) you were punished for a pattern of behavior, not a this specific event.

5) you are now putting that pattern of behavior on display for the Whole OOTP Community

Now this is my last post in this thread I am moving on, do yourself and this community a favor and do the same thing.

Have a great Day!

You'd all be better of just walking away, in the end all you'll do is look bitter or futher pull down the reputation of your league. End of the day GM's will find out for themselves what a league is like and will either stay or leave very quickly.

What exactly for? Don't people have a right to know what's going on in a league that's protecting GMs for making derogatory comments about the physically disabled, and suspending GMs for trying to promote a friendly environment and asking people stopping from personally attacking one another? The newbie here wasn't offended, which is great but this is an important message of which the community should be aware. There is no justifiable reason to close or delete this topic.

This is a sentiment I can appreciate and respect. I mean no harm or disrespect, I just want to make the people aware of this issue so they can decide for themselves with the truth out there. It may even (gasp) encourage the league to not continue these systematic policies going forward and want to do better for us, the GMs. What a travesty that would be huh?

OK, enough of the phony accounts and other phony accounts mocking those phony accounts.

If you want to urinate in public, at least use your own accounts so everyone knows who is peeing on whom.
